GUN DRILL MACHINE
A gun drill machine capable of shortening a margin dimension required in a gun drill as much as possible. In a free zone between a chip box and a moving spindle unit, a plurality of swing stopping devices for loosely holding a gun drill and suppressing the swing of the gun drill are arranged, and each swing stopping device is configured to freely retract from a steady action position where a swing stopping action is performed to avoid interference with the spindle unit that moves in the free zone.
Cutting tool, particularly a boring bar, as well as a process for machining a number of bores
To make it possible for bores (16) that are in line with one another to be efficiently worked by means of a boring bar (2), the boring bar has a main body (10) with an axis of rotation (R) and a number of cutting elements (12, 12A) at intervals from one another in the axial direction (4) and also guiding elements (14) for guiding the main body (10) in a guiding bore (16A). The guiding elements (14) are kept at a distance from the axis of rotation (R) equivalent to a guide radius (r1). The main body (10) is divided into a functional region (19) and an eccentric region (10), wherein the cutting elements (12, 12A) and the guiding elements (14) are arranged such that they are distributed around the main body (10) over an angular range (a) of less than 180°. Furthermore, the circumferential side (22) of the main body (10) can be passed eccentrically through a respective bore (16, 16A) of which the unworked tube radius (r2) is less than the guide radius (r1).
Tool attachment and through spindle coolant systems for use with ultrasonic machining modules
An ultrasonic machining module that includes an ultrasonic transducer, wherein the ultrasonic transducer is adapted to receive a machining tool and a vibration-isolating housing adapted to be both compatible with a machining system and to receive the ultrasonic transducer therein, wherein the housing further includes at least one modification for isolating all vibrations generated by the ultrasonic transducer when the device is in operation except axial vibrations transmitted to the machining tool, thereby preventing unwanted vibrations from traveling backward or upward into the machining system. The ultrasonic machining module may also include an acoustically tuned collet and/or an acoustically tuned system for delivering coolant fluid through the module to a machining tool or target substrate.
Machining process
A machining method for at least one shaping machining operation can include carrying out a machining operation over a first distance using a cutting tool which is subjected to axial oscillations as it moves forward, then reducing the amplitude of the axial oscillations while continuing to drive the cutting tool in terms of rotation.
VIBRATION-DAMPED HIGH-SPEED TOOL HOLDER
A high-speed tool holder includes: a tool shaft for accommodating a tool at its first end, and a machine clamping part which is integrally connected to the tool shaft and forms an interface for clamping in the machine; with the tool shaft being substantially truncated circular cone-shaped, a first diameter at the first end with the tool insertion opening being smaller than a fifth diameter at the second end at the machine clamping part; and a portion of the substantially truncated circular cone-shaped tool shaft having an outwardly bulging, preferably spherical, shape between the tool insertion opening and the machine clamping part.
TOOL RECEPTACLE WITH DAMPING ELEMENT
A tool holder is provided comprising a base body for coupling with a drive spindle that can be driven rotatingly, whereon a clamping chuck for clamping a tool is provided, further comprising a damping element arranged between the base body and the clamping chuck, wherein the damping element is made of an elastomeric material or of a shape memory alloy, and wherein the clamping chuck is solely connected to the base body by means of the damping element.
TOOL HOLDER HAVING ANTI-VIBRATION ARRANGEMENT AND CUTTING TOOL PROVIDED WITH TOOL HOLDER
An elongated tool holder includes a tool anti-vibration component having a mass housing portion and an anti-vibration arrangement. The anti-vibration arrangement includes an enclosed interior holder cavity formed in the mass housing portion. The anti-vibration arrangement also includes a vibration absorbing mass disposed within the holder cavity and elastically suspended therein by at least three non-torus shaped, resilient suspension members contacting an inwardly facing cavity wall surface. A cutting tool is provided with the tool holder.
Electronic Module and Insert Tool System Comprising such an Electronic Module
The disclosure is based on an electronic module for an insert tool, in particular a drill bit or a chisel, including at least one electronic device for processing and/or sensing insert-tool-specific characteristics, including at least one holding device for releasably holding the electronic device on the insert tool. The holding device having at least one insert-tool interface having at least one contact surface that, when the holding device is arranged on the insert tool, is in contact, in particular in direct contact, with the insert tool, and including at least one damping unit for damping vibrations acting on the electronic device. The damping unit at least partially constitutes the insert-tool interface.
Threaded insert for securing a tool in a tool receiving area, and tool receiving area comprising such a threaded insert
The invention relates to a threaded insert for securing a tool provided with a securing thread in a tool receiving area. The threaded insert contains a receiving opening with an inner thread for screwing in the tool at the front end face. According to the invention, the threaded insert has a plug-in region which tapers towards the rear end face and which comprises an outer support surface, and at least one depression for receiving an adhesive is arranged on the outer contact surface. The invention additionally relates to a receiving element for such a threaded insert and to a tool receiving area comprising such a threaded insert and a corresponding receiving element.
TOOL BODY INCLUDING A DAMPING APPARATUS AND A MACHINING TOOL HAVING SUCH A TOOL BODY
A tool body includes a damping apparatus having a damper mass body with an axial through bore and a central tube received in the through bore and surrounded by a cavity. An elastic element is arranged on each side of the damper mass body and provided with two socket-like portions extending axially through a central hole of two disc-like members clamping the elastic element therebetween. The socket-like portions project in a rest state of the elastic element extend axially beyond the respective axially directed side of the respective disc-like member and are in an assembled state of the tool body compressed for sealing the cavity with respect to the exterior.
