Tool head for rotary cutting tool and rotary cutting tool including same

The coupling part, in particular cutting head for a drilling tool for the interchangeable fastening in a coupling receptacle, has a coupling pin which is enclosed by a head support surface, wherein the coupling pin has a plurality of types of functional surfaces, namely stop surfaces for transmitting a torque between the cutting head and the carrier, and clamping surfaces for centering and clamping the cutting head in the coupling receptacle. The coupling pin has an axially front pin region and an adjoining, axially rear pin region, and the clamping surfaces and the stop surfaces are arranged in different pin regions. This decoupling and distribution of the functional surfaces to the various pin regions permits simpler production of the coupling pin and an overall more robust configuration.

Modular carrier tool and tool head

The modular carrier tool (2), in particular drilling tool, extends along a central longitudinal axis (4) in axial direction (6) and comprises a carrier (8) as well as a tool head (10) that can be reversibly mounted on the front-end of the carrier (8). The carrier (8) has a head retainer (14) for the insertion of the tool head (10) as well as clamping webs (24), which radially delimit the head retainer (14) and also have bearing surfaces (28). The tool head (10) comprises clamping surfaces (35) extending in axial direction as well as underhead bearing surfaces (34). In a mounted state the clamping webs (24) clamp the tool head (10) in radial direction to the clamping surfaces (35) and the underhead bearing surfaces (34) are pressed against the bearing surfaces (28). In order to generate a force component (K) acting in radial direction unto the clamping webs (24), the bearing surfaces (28) as well as the underhead bearing surfaces (34) are tilted in radial direction towards the central longitudinal axis (4) by a tilt angle . This particularly supports the radially exerted clamping force of the elastic clamping webs (24).

DRILLING SYSTEM AND DRILL INSERT AND METHODS FOR HOLE DRILLING
20180221967 · 2018-08-09 ·

There is provided a drilling assembly and drill insert for producing holes in metal workpieces, wherein the drill insert body has a cutting end. The cutting end comprises at least two cutting lips formed transverse to each other. A web is formed between the two cutting lips, and each of the two cutting lips includes a cutting edge segment and at least one chip breaker. The chip breaker comprises at least one step in the cutting lip to produce a radial discontinuity in the cutting edge segment of the cutting lip for producing chips during machining which are of a width that is sufficiently reduced to allow proper evacuation from the hole produced thereby.

Rotary tool, in particular a drill for such a rotary tool

The rotary tool comprises a support and a cutting head which can be inserted into a pin receptacle of the support via a coupling pin. The support and the cutting head have mutually corresponding surface sections for transferring a radial clamping force and have mutually corresponding torque sections for transferring torque. For an axial pull-out stop device, effective stop surfaces are formed on the pin receptacle and on the coupling pin in the axial direction, wherein, to do this, a stop element is formed, the radial extension of which is smaller than or equal to a radial extension (r.sub.2) of the surface sections of the coupling pin and wherein the stop surfaces and the surface section are offset relative to each other in the circumferential direction.
