CUTTING HEAD HAVING TORQUE TRANSMISSION SURFACES ON A MOUNTING PROTUBERANCE AND ROTARY CUTTING TOOL HAVING SUCH CUTTING HEAD
20200206826 · 2020-07-02 · ·

A cutting head rotatable about a head axis, has a cap portion and a mounting protuberance joined thereto and extending axially rearwardly therefrom. The mounting protuberance has a plurality of circumferentially spaced apart torque portions axially offset from a plurality of circumferentially spaced apart clamping portions. The clamping portions have clamping surfaces circumscribed by an imaginary clamping circle with a clamping diameter. The torque portions have torque protrusions and torque cut-outs, each torque protrusion having a torque transmission surface at least partially located outside an imaginary clamping cylinder defined by the imaginary clamping circle, and each torque cut-out having a recessed surface located inside the imaginary clamping cylinder. The cutting head is releasably secured to a head receiving pocket of a tool shank, with each clamping surface contacting a corresponding abutment surface of the pocket, and each torque transmission surface contacting a corresponding drive surface of the pocket.

PRECISION SECURING DEVICE

A precision securing device is disclosed that comprises a central longitudinal hole to receive a shaft from a first end of the device, a gripping portion around the central hole to fixedly secure an upper part of the shaft, and an adjustment portion around the central hole adjacent the first end. The adjustment portion has a number of lateral adjustment holes opening into the central hole. Each adjustment hole is threaded to receive an adjustment screw into the central hole to contact a lower part of the shaft in the central hole. A first diameter of the central hole at the adjustment portion is larger than a second diameter at the gripping portion. Runout of the shaft is adjustable by adjusting depth of entry of each screw to displace the lower part of the shaft when the upper part has been fixedly secured in the gripping portion.

SIDE-ACTIVATED MODULAR DRILL

A cutting insert includes a head portion having a number of cutting edges and a centering pin which is disposed about a central longitudinal axis and which is coupled to, and extends axially away from, the main head portion. The centering pin includes a recess structured to accommodate a portion of a setscrew. The recess includes: a first angled surface disposed generally facing away from a leading end of the centering pin at an acute first angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the centering pin; and a second angled surface which is positioned opposing the first angled surface at an acute second angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the centering pin.

Drill for Chiseling Stone

A drill bit for chiseling stone includes an impact face at an insertion end of the drill bit, a hollow shank, where a delivery passage is defined within the hollow shank, and a drill head, where the drill head has, at a front end of the drill head, a cutting edge, an intake opening, and an intake passage. The intake passage connects the intake opening to the delivery passage. A cross section of the intake passage increases from the intake opening to the delivery passage.

Cutting tool

A tool includes a cutting insert with a shank, which extends along a cutting insert longitudinal axis, and with at least one cutting edge, wherein at least a part of the cutting insert is a first material and further includes a tool holder which extends along a holder longitudinal axis and includes on an end-face end a cutting insert receptacle for receiving the cutting insert shank, wherein the cutting insert receptacle is a cup-shaped recess. The tool further includes an attachment element which is connected to the cutting insert and extends in a circumferential direction around the cutting insert shank, wherein at least a part of the attachment element is a second, different material. The tool also includes a fastening element for fastening the cutting insert on the tool holder, wherein, in a mounted state, the fastening element contacts the attachment element to fasten the cutting insert on the tool holder.

Drill Bit for Chiselling Rock

A drill bit for chiselling rock includes an impact face at an insertion end of the drill bit, a hollow shank, where a delivery passage is defined within the hollow shank, and a drill head, where the drill head has, at a front end of the drill head, a plurality of cutting faces, an intake opening, and an intake passage. The intake passage connects the intake opening to the delivery passage. The intake opening has a noncircular cross section.

Cutting tool

A cutting tool including a body, a blade, a feed shaft, and a locking member. The body defines an axis and is adapted to be received by a spindle of a power tool. The blade is removably supportable on the body and rotatable about the axis for cutting a workpiece. A feed shaft is removably supportable in the body and rotatable about the axis for engaging a workpiece, the feed shaft being mountable in the cutting tool to engage and at least partially restrain the blade. The feed shaft further includes an opening transverse to the axis. The locking member is engageable with the body and with the opening in the feed shaft. Advancement of the locking member into the opening tightens both the blade and the feed shaft to the body.
