Rotary drill tool with insert centring surfaces
A cutting insert for a rotary drill tool and a drill tool assembly in which an insert and a support body are coupled via cooperative contact surfaces and a mounting screw. The contact surfaces provide a dual function to axially and rotationally lock the insert at the support body in addition to providing a centring function of the insert.
Drill
A drill includes a body. The body includes a first cutting edge, and a second cutting edge apart from the first cutting edge to the back end side relative to the first cutting edge and formed in a recess traversing an outer peripheral portion of the body. In a side view of the body in a first direction in which a distance between a center axis of the body and a first outer end of the first cutting edge is seen the longest, a second outer end of the second cutting edge is located at the center axis side relative to the first outer end of the first cutting edge.
BORING TOOL WITH MULTI-ANGLED TIP
A boring tool may include a coupling portion for interfacing with a powered driver, a shank operably coupled to the coupling portion, a cutting portion operably coupled to the shank, and a cutting portion. The cutting portion may be defined by a plurality of helical cutting flutes. The cutting tip may be operably coupled to a distal end of the cutting portion relative to the shank. The coupling portion, the shank, the cutting portion and the cutting tip may all share an axis. The cutting tip may include an inner portion and an outer portion. The inner portion may be defined by inner faces bisected by the axis and extending a first radial distance away from the axis to define a first point angle between the inner faces. The outer portion may be defined by outer faces extending from respective ones of the inner faces at the first radial distance to a second radial distance equal to a radius of the cutting portion to define a second point angle between the outer faces, and the second point angle may be less than the first point angle.
Threading insert having variable edge roundness
A threading insert includes a top surface, an opposite bottom surface, a side surface connecting the top surface and the bottom surface, and a first tooth. The first tooth has a first cutting edge, the first cutting edge including a first top cutting edge connecting a first leading cutting edge and a first trailing cutting edge. The first cutting edge has an edge roundness and the size of the edge roundness varies along the first cutting edge.
ACCESSORY TOOLS
A step drill bit including a shank operatively couplable to a tool, a body portion coupled to the shank, the body portion including a tool bit tip and a plurality of progressively sized, axially stacked steps, the body portion defining a hollow cavity, and an inner structure having a plurality of support members extending within the hollow cavity.
CUTTING INSERT, ROTARY TOOL, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING MACHINED PRODUCT
A rotary tool according to an aspect includes a body, a flank face positioned at a side of a tip end of the body, a flute extending from the flank face toward a rear end of the body, and a ridge line positioned at an intersection of the flank face and the flute. The ridge line includes a recessed portion recessed toward the rear end of the body, an inner edge extending from the recessed portion toward the tip end of the body, and an outer edge extending from the recessed portion toward an outer periphery of the body. The flute includes a recessed groove extending along the outer edge. The recessed groove is connected to the recessed portion and the outer edge, and is separated from the inner edge.
CUTTING INSERT, ROTARY TOOL, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING MACHINED PRODUCT
An insert includes a main body extending from a first end toward a second end. The main body includes a cutting edge, a rake face, and a flute. In the rake face, a second rake angle of a second surface region positioned closer to the second end than a first surface region connected to the cutting edge is smaller than a first rake angle of the first surface region. A third rake angle of a third surface region is smaller than the second rake angle, the third surface region being adjacent to the flute rearward in a rotational direction and on an outer peripheral side of the main body.
MINI CUTTING BIT
A mini cutting bit includes a shank, a cutting part and a bit tip, wherein the cutting part has opposite ends connected to the shank and the bit tip. The bit tip and the cutting part are made of different materials, and the bit tip is harder than the cutting part.
Rotary cutting insert and tool having declined axial support surfaces
A cutting insert for a rotary drill tool and drill tool assembly in which an insert and a support body are coupled via a plurality of axial support surfaces. The support surfaces include a first declined orientation in the axial direction and a second declined orientation in the circumferential direction, so as to manage and control transmission of loading forces at the region of mounting the insert at the support body.
DRILL BIT
A method of manufacturing a drill bit includes providing a piece of bar stock having a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and an axis of rotation extending centrally through the bar stock between the first and second ends, cutting the first end of the bar stock to form a first tip angle at an oblique angle measured through the axis of rotation, cutting the first end of the bar stock at a second tip angle measured through the axis of rotation to form first tip surfaces and second tip surfaces. The first tip surfaces have the first tip angle and the second tip surfaces have the second tip angle. The second tip angle is smaller than the first tip angle. Finally forming a flute in the bar stock between the first and second ends and forming a shank at the second end of the bar stock.
