The chip discharge groove is in an outer circumference of the body. The tip seat is at a distal end of the body. The tip seat where the cutting insert is placeable wherein. Among wall surfaces constituting the chip discharge groove, a wall surface facing in a direction opposite to a rotating direction of the body. The wall surface has a bulging portion at a distal end thereof. The bulging portion protrudes so as to cover a part of a top surface of the cutting insert. A maximum gap between the bulging portion and the top surface of the cutting insert is smaller than a height of a wall constituting the tip seat.

A holesaw assembly includes a holesaw and a pilot bit. The holesaw includes a hollow cup defining a center axis. The cup has a round base perpendicular to the center axis and a peripheral wall coupled to and extending axially forward of the base to a peripheral edge at a free end of the wall. The pilot bit is received in the holesaw along the center axis. The pilot bit has a shaft received in the base, a cutting head coupled to a front end of the shaft, and an at least partially threaded tip coupled to a front end of the cutting head. The holesaw is free of any radial cutting elements disposed inside the cup between the drill bit and the peripheral wall of the cup.

An indexable milling or drilling insert having a 180-degree rotational symmetry about each of the first, second and third axes (X, Y, Z) of a three-dimensional euclidean space. The insert has opposite first and second main surfaces and a peripheral surface extending therebetween. Each main surface has a main abutment surface and at least two rake surfaces. The insert has a through clamping bore which extends along the third axis and opens out to the main surfaces. The peripheral surface has two opposite front surfaces connected to two opposite side surfaces. Each front surface has a pair of outward abutment surfaces and each side surface has a pair of at least partially planar inward abutment surfaces. Each pair of outward abutment surfaces converge outwardly away from the third axis and each pair of inward abutment surfaces converge inwardly towards the third axis.

A drill according to an embodiment of the present invention has a pair of main cutting edges positioned at a front end of a drill body, a pair of first chisel edges each extending from the pair of main cutting edges toward a rotation axis, and a second chisel edge positioned between the pair of first chisel edges and intersecting with the rotation axis of the drill body. When viewing a locus of rotation of the pair of first chisel edges and a locus of rotation of the second chisel edge in a cross section taken so as to include the rotation axis, the respective locus of rotation of the pair of first chisel edges have a rectilinear shape, and respective imaginary straight lines obtained by extending the locus of rotation of the pair of first chisel edges toward the rotation axis are positioned further to a rear end side of the drill body than the locus of rotation of the second chisel edge.

STEP DRILL BIT

A drill bit includes a shank and a body portion defining a plurality of axially stacked, progressively sized steps. The steps include a first step and a terminal step. The first step defines two tip flutes each disposed at a tip flute angle. The body portion defines a body flute extending through the steps. The drill bit also includes an indicator band formed on a portion of the body flute and a portion of an outer surface of one of the plurality of steps.

CUTTING TOOL COMPRISING A CUTTING ELEMENT RELEASABLY ATTACHED TO A SUPPORT MEMBER BY MEANS OF A CLAMPING JAW

The invention relates to a cutting tool, in particular a rotating machining tool, comprising a support member, a cutting element that is releasably clamped to the support member, and a clamping jaw which is located on the support member, can be secured by means of a clamping screw and clamps the cutting element against the support member. According to the invention, a lifting element is provided between the support member and the clamping claw; when the clamping screw is unscrewed, said lifting element lifts the clamping jaw off the cutting element located on the support member.

Step drill bit

A drill bit includes a shank, a transition portion, and a body portion defining a plurality of axially stacked, progressively sized steps. The steps include a first step and a terminal step coupled to the transition portion. The first step defines two tip flutes each disposed at a tip flute angle. The body portion defines a body flute extending from the first step to the transition portion. The drill bit also includes an indicator band formed on a portion of the body flute and a portion of an outer surface of one of the plurality of steps.
