CRIB SHIELD SYSTEM AND OTHER BREATHABLE APPARATUS
An apparatus and method for making same utilizing a breathable mesh material having a reduced suffocation resistance level for infant and toddler use. The breathable mesh material includes an inner and outer fabric that includes larger openings on the front substructure than on the back substructure and a pile substructure is integrated and extends between the front and back substructures allowing air to substantially move effectively therethrough.
SLEEP ACCESSORY FOR CATCHING BED BUGS, AND BED-BUG-CATCHING DEVICE
The invention relates to a sleep accessory for catching bed bugs, having a closed frame for supporting at least one person, a base being arranged on the frame, which base closes the frame on one side, wherein at least one bed bug trap is arranged on the frame, which bed bug trap continuously encloses the entire frame, a peripheral groove being arranged on upper edges of the frame. According to the invention, all the inner frame sides of the frame and an inner base side of the base and a transition region from the inner base side to the inner frame sides are substantially gap- and/or crack-free, in particular smooth, and the bed bug trap is arranged on a base of the groove.
Multi-layered pillowcase and methods for making the same
Multi-layered pillowcases and methods of making and using the same are discussed herein. The multi-layered pillowcase generally includes an outer pillowcase and an inner pillowcase, wherein the inner pillowcase is smaller in total size than the outer pillowcase so as to allow the inner pillowcase to float inside the outer pillowcase and wherein the inner pillowcase is secured to the outer pillowcase.
Mattress protector with improved moisture management and bed bug containment
A mattress protector completely encloses a mattress to preclude bed bugs from escaping. All of the interior surfaces of the protector are coated or laminated with a film laminate that is resistant to bed bug bites. A zipper extends partially around the circumference of the mattress protector so that when the zipper is opened an opening is provided allowing a mattress to be slid into the protector. The zipper is located next to the intersection between side walls and the bottom wall. A closure flap extends perpendicularly to the direction of extension of the zipper. The outer surface of the top wall is provided with a coating that renders the top surface waterproof while also providing anti-microbial properties and unique temperature regulation.
Economical fire barrier nonwoven or fabric material with antimicrobial properties
Provided herein is a new fire barrier material composed of flame retardant (FR) cellulosic fiber(s) and one or more of an antimicrobial (AM) cellulosic fiber and an untreated cellulosic fiber(s). The fire barrier material may be a fabric woven or knitted from the yarn containing the FR cellulosic fiber(s) and the one or more of AM cellulosic fibers and untreated cellulosic fibers. When AM cellulosic fibers are combined with FR treated cellulosic fibers, the fire barrier material has the dual features of flame retardancy and antimicrobial properties. The fire barrier material may also be a nonwoven, and in preferred embodiments optionally includes a binder fiber. The FR cellulosic fiber contains FR chemical(s) or FR compound(s) that have a melting point or decomposition temperature at 400 C. (752 F.) or below. The FR performance of the new nonwoven provided herein is comparable to the conventional FR nonwoven (FR cellulosic fiber/binder fiber), but has advantages in cost effectiveness, as well as antimicrobial properties.
Bed microclimate control
A bed system includes microclimate control capabilities for providing quality sleep experience. The bed system can include a microclimate control subsystem configured to supply conditioned air (e.g., heated or cooled air) to a mattress, or draw ambient air from the mattress, to achieve a desired temperature at the top of the mattress. Utilizing supply of conditioned air to provide air at desired temperature to the mattress system, or utilizing air suction to drain heat away from the mattress system, can provide precise microclimate control at the mattress, thereby permitting conformable sleep.
Mattress reinforcement system
Reinforcement straps are used to hold a mattress system in place and keep it from bowing outwards when used. The mattress system can include a layer and a rail structure attached to the layer. The layer can have a layer top and a layer bottom opposite to the layer top. The layer can extend between a first layer edge and a second layer edge.
Chair comprising copper infused mesh support material
A chair for particular use in clinical or hospital environments has a frame to which a support material is secured. The support material may form a chair back and/or a seat for the chair to provide support to the chair occupant. The support material may be made from a textile of interwoven strands wherein some of the interwoven strands include copper containing particles, such as copper iodide or copper oxide within the textile fibers.
Bed microclimate control with preparation cycle
A bed system includes microclimate control capabilities for providing quality sleep experience. The bed system can include a microclimate control subsystem configured to supply conditioned air (e.g., heated or cooled air) to a mattress, or draw ambient air from the mattress, to achieve a desired temperature at the top of the mattress. Utilizing supply of conditioned air to provide air at desired temperature to the mattress system, or utilizing air suction to drain heat away from the mattress system, can provide precise microclimate control at the mattress, thereby permitting conformable sleep.
Rapid evacuation sled for patients and victims
Described is a rollup evacuation sled that includes a bottom sheet, a foam mattress disposed above the bottom sheet, and a support sheet disposed above the mattress. A margin stack including the bottom sheet and the support sheet forms a sandwiched margin left side and a sandwiched margin right side. The sled may further include a plurality of spinal boards disposed between the bottom sheet and the mattress in the upper section of the bottom sheet. Wheel assemblies are mounted on each spinal board. The sled further includes a foot pouch coupled to the sandwiched margin left and right sides and dimensioned to substantially enclose feet and calves of a person lying on the support sheet. The foot pouch is configured to store a stack including the bottom sheet, mattress and the support sheet, when the stack is rolled up along a longitudinal direction from the head end.
