Barrier system and method
A retractable barrier that helps prevent the spread of communicable disease includes a first outer surface that faces a first direction, a second outer surface that faces a second direction opposite the first direction, and a filter layer between the first outer surface and the second outer surface. The filter layer includes a particulate filtering material. The barrier is selectively extendable from a compartment to establish a partition that separates individuals on opposite sides of the partition.
Encasements and methods of manufacture
An encasement for protecting a household item from bug intrusion includes a fabric cover having an elongated opening with a first end location and a second end location, the fabric cover being of a size for receiving the household item in the interior of the cover, a zipper configured to seal the opening, a first inside securing member attached inside the fabric cover along a first edge of the elongated opening, the first inside securing member comprising hook or loop fasteners, a second inside securing member attached inside the fabric cover along a second edge of the elongated opening, the second inside securing member including hook or loop fasteners, and an inside patch comprising the other of the hook or loop fasteners, the inside patch configured to be attached to the first inside securing member and the second inside securing member when the zipper is closed.
BEDDING VACUUM PAD
An assembly for removing liquid from bedding, including a liquid impermeable layer portion, a padding portion disposed adjacent the liquid impermeable layer portion, and a suction conduit array portion operationally connected to the liquid impermeable pad portion and disposed between the liquid impermeable layer portion and the padding portion. A vacuum source is operationally connected to the suction conduit array portion. A liquid trap portion is operationally connected between suction conduit array portion and the vacuum source portion. A urine sensor and an electronic controller may be operationally connected between the suction conduit array and the vacuum source.
INFECTION CONTROL FILTER LABEL
An infection control filter label includes a frame and a filter membrane that covers a window through the frame. The frame may be removably secured to a cover for an item, such as a cushion (e.g., a pillow, a positioner, a mattress topper, a mattress, a seat cushion, etc.), bedding (e.g., a duvet, etc.), or the like to provide a sealed cover for the item. The sealed cover may be impermeable, with the infection control filter label limiting the passage of dust and microorganisms (e.g., fungi, bacteria, mold spores, etc.) from passing therethrough. Thus, the sealed cover may protect its contents from external factors (e.g., sick individuals, etc.) while protecting the environment outside the sealed cover from the contents of the sealed cover. Information about the item may be provided on the frame; for example, by printing, writing, or the like.
Disease Protection Sheets
The present invention provides device designed to provide sheets that are disposable and water resistant. The present invention includes a plurality of chairs with numbers, a container, sheets having numbers that match one or more of the plurality of numbers attached to the chairs, a chair transceiver and a container transceiver.
MATTRESS PROTECTOR WITH IMPROVED MOISTURE MANAGEMENT AND BED BUG CONTAINMENT
A mattress protector completely encloses a mattress to preclude bed bugs from escaping. All of the interior surfaces of the protector are coated or laminated with a film laminate that is resistant to bed bug bites. A zipper extends partially around the circumference of the mattress protector so that when the zipper is opened an opening is provided allowing a mattress to be slid into the protector. The zipper is located next to the intersection between side walls and the bottom wall. A closure flap extends perpendicularly to the direction of extension of the zipper. The outer surface of the top wall is provided with a coating that renders the top surface waterproof while also providing anti-microbial properties and unique temperature regulation.
Portable bed apparatus and method of use
The subject matter described herein includes a portable bed apparatus, and method of use. One aspect of this invention includes a storage container for a foldable bed frame and sleeping ware and a foldable bed frame made of a plurality of bed panel frames. The storage container is expandable to form an insect resistant frame having a base and a dome. In another aspect of this invention, the frame of insect resistant net is made of a plurality of generally rectangular shaped members and a plurality of connecting members, wherein each end of the plurality of rectangular shaped members are positioned in one of the plurality of connecting members. In the extended position at least two of the plurality of generally rectangular members are substantially parallel to the plurality of connecting members forming a base to receive the bedding and to retain a net; and at least two of the plurality of rectangular members of the plurality of rectangular members form a dome to define a space above the bedding and to retain the insect non-permeable net.
Pressure-based bed microclimate control
A bed system includes microclimate control capabilities for providing quality sleep experience. The bed system can include a microclimate control subsystem configured to supply conditioned air (e.g., heated or cooled air) to a mattress, or draw ambient air from the mattress, to achieve a desired temperature at the top of the mattress. Utilizing supply of conditioned air to provide air at desired temperature to the mattress system, or utilizing air suction to drain heat away from the mattress system, can provide precise microclimate control at the mattress, thereby permitting conformable sleep.
ACTIVE MATTRESS ENCASEMENT
An active mattress encasement which can be relatively easily installed or removed or rotated over a mattress supported by a foundation is disclosed. The encasement is formed to encapsulate a mattress and may include a top panel, a bottom panel and multiple side panels. One or more of the side panels are zippered together, In one embodiment, the unzippered side panels, i.e. side panels without zippers, fixedly connect the top and bottom portions of the side panels. In another embodiment, an inflatable volume is integrated into the bottom panel. Alternatively, the inflatable volume may be integrated with a separate detachable cover and attached to the bottom panel by conventional means. The top and bottom panels, as well as the side panels may be made from a conventional materials. The underside of the top panel and optionally the inside of the side panels may be coated with a waterproof coating, such as polyurethane (TPU/PU), silicone, and/or urethane to form a waterproof membrane. In accordance with an important aspect of one embodiment of the invention, an interior surface of the bottom panel is formed with a slick surface while the exterior surface of the bottom panel is integrated with an inflatable volume. The inflatable volume faces outwardly and is adapted to be in contact with the foundation or optional bed skirt. In this embodiment, the exterior surface of the bottom panel of the encasement is formed at least partially with a non-slick surface. The non-slick surface provides a frictional relationship between the exterior surface of the bottom panel of the encasement and the foundation or bed skirt while the encasement is being installed or removed over a mattress. The slick interior surface of the bottom panel allows a mattress to be rotated, installed, or removed, once the bottom panel is juxtaposed between the mattress and the foundation in an application in which the encasement is unzipped and the top panel is disposed on the floor adjacent one end of the mattress. Alternatively, a separate detachable cover may be used to allow the mattress to be relatively easily installed or removed or rotated with the encasement fully installed on the mattress. Optional straps may be provided, fixedly attached to the encasement, to allow the encasement to be snugged against the mattress. This enables the encasement to be used with a relatively wide range of mattress sizes and still provide a snug fit.
BEDDING COMPONENTS INCLUDING A DESICCANT
Bedding components generally include a desiccant applied or infused into a selected bedding component. The desiccant can be microencapsulated, applied as a topical solution, and/or provided within a container including a moisture permeable membrane.
