An interface for a battery pack and an electrical combination. The interface may include a battery-receiving portion configured to receive a battery pack and including a cavity. The cavity is defined by a pair of sidewalls with rails defining a groove between the rails and a lower surface of the cavity. The rails are stepped or angled along a battery insertion axis and are configured to guide the sliding engagement of a battery pack within the battery-receiving portion.

The mud mixer further includes a first handle fixedly coupled to the tool body and extending from the tool body along a handle axis, a plane angled relative to the rotation axis and defined as an extension of the handle axis, and a second handle rotatably coupled to the tool body about the rotation axis and extending from the tool body in a direction parallel to the plane.

Rotation of the fan draws an airflow into the housing through the air intake openings.

An adapter connects a plurality of first battery packs, each having a nominal voltage of about 18-36 volts, in series to an power tool having a rated voltage that is 36 volts or higher. The power tool includes a second battery interface configured to removably attach a second battery pack. The adapter includes a plurality of first battery interfaces configured to removably attach the plurality of first battery packs and having a different physical configuration than the second battery interface. A connector of the adapter is configured to be removably attached to the second battery interface. A plurality of visual indicators is disposed on the adapter such that they have the same or substantially the same illumination direction and they visually indicate at least a level of charge of each of the first battery packs attached to the adapter.

The drill is comprises of: an electric motor for driving a tool; a controller configured to receive an AC input signal and operable to control a drive signal to the electric motor; an electromagnet arranged in a base of the drill housing and operable, in response to a DC voltage, to magnetically couple the base to a surface proximate to the base; an AC/DC converter configured to receive the AC input signal and operates, independent from the controller and in the presence of the AC input signal, to output a DC voltage to the electromagnet; and an alternate power source circuit that monitors the DC voltage output by the converter and, in the absence thereof, provides an alternate DC voltage to the electromagnet.

Electric tool powered by a plurality of battery packs and adapter therefor

An electric power tool includes a main body supporting a tool. An electric motor is housed in the main body and configured to drive the tool. A plurality of battery interfaces is integrally formed on the main body, each battery interface having a positive battery terminal and a negative battery terminal. Each battery interface is configured to removably receive a positive battery terminal and a negative battery terminal of a corresponding one of a plurality of battery packs and to electrically connect the plurality of attached battery packs in series with the electric motor. Each of the plurality of battery packs comprises a movable latch configured to engage a corresponding engagement structure defined on or near the corresponding battery interface.

CUTTING TOOL AND CUTTING APPARATUS

A cutting tool has a cutting bite, a power path, and a housing. The cutting bite includes a cutting edge, a shank that holds the cutting edge, and a sensor attached to the shank. The power path has a first terminal connected to the cutting bite and a second terminal opposite to the first terminal, and supplies power to the sensor. The housing accommodates a battery that stores power to be supplied to the power path, and is connected to the second terminal.

An electric power tool comprises a main body supporting a tool and an electric motor housed in the main body for driving the tool. A plurality of first battery interfaces is configured to removably receive or attach a plurality of first battery packs and to electrically connect the plurality of attached first battery packs in series with the electric motor. A plurality of indicators is configured to communicate information concerning the respective conditions of the plurality of attached first battery packs. The plurality of indicators is arranged such that all of the indicators are simultaneously viewable by a user of the electric power tool.
