Apparatus and method for manufacturing a fabric suspension seat structure
A seat assembly includes a fabric component having a seat surface and a frame including an interior segment directly attached to the fabric component. The interior segment extends from an exterior segment that has a greater flexural resistance than the interior segment.
MODULAR FURNITURE SYSTEM
Please substitute the following paragraph for the abstract now appearing in the currently filed specification:
A modular furniture system is for a variety of purposes and includes at least one furniture base module consisting of a backrest element, a seat base module, two upholstery elements and a plurality of foot elements. The backrest element and the seat base module are capable of being connected and fastened by the foot elements without the use of tools, so that the furniture base module is capable of being packed ready for assembly in a shipping carton with low dimensions, in particular with dimensions up to 120 cm×60 cm×60 cm, and with a reduced weight, in particular with a weight of less than 30 kg.

VEHICLE SEAT AND ASSEMBLING METHOD THEREFOR
A vehicle seat includes a pad having an air passage, a skin material, and a skin locking clip embedded in the pad and configured to tuck in a prescribed linear portion of the skin material. The pad includes a main body member in which the skin locking clip is embedded, an intermediate layer member arranged on the main body member, and a surface layer member arranged on the intermediate layer member. The main body member includes a linear bulging portion extending along the linear portion and bulging so as to define a plane substantially identical to a surface of the surface layer member, and the skin material is tucked in by the skin locking clip at a portion extending further from the surface layer member than the linear bulging portion.
Textile deck assembly for furniture items
A textile deck assembly, method of fabricating, and method of installing onto a seat frame assembly. The textile deck assembly includes a platform portion and a plurality of straps coupled to a rearward edge of the platform portion. The materials of the textile deck assembly are matched so that the plurality of straps undergoes most or all of the elongation under load (e.g., when a person sits thereon), while the platform portion, even though it is flexible and compliant, is stretch resistant and undergoes little or no stretching under load. A battery of durability tests were performed on the textile deck assembly, including deflection testing, fatigue testing, and drop testing, and compared with conventional seat decks that utilize sinuous springs. The durability of the textile deck assembly to was found to outperform conventional seat decks.
SEAT SKIN, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SEAT SKIN
A seat skin 11 has a front surface layer 12, a back surface layer 13, and pores 15. The inner wall of the pore 15 is covered by the front surface layer 12. The seat skin 11 is produced by forming a base material having at least a front surface layer 12 and a back surface layer 13; sandwiching the base material between a pressing plate having a die for the pores, and a backing plate opposite the pressing plate; pressing the pressing plate against the backing plate with the base material being heated at a temperature that a component contained in the front surface layer 12 does not melt, to form the pores in the base material; and removing the base material having the pores formed therein from between the pressing plate and the backing plate.

Attachment structure for suspension seating
A seating structure includes a frame, a carrier, and a suspension material. The frame includes first and second side frame members and first and second cross frame members forming a closed loop and defining an opening therebetween. The frame also includes a plurality of first attachment features on an outer perimeter of the frame. The carrier includes first and second side carrier members and first and second cross carrier members that form a closed loop. The carrier also includes a plurality of second attachment features on an inner perimeter of the carrier. The plurality of second attachment features engages the plurality of first attachment features to attach the carrier to the frame. The suspension material is attached to the carrier and extends over the opening in the frame to define a continuous seat and backrest.
MESH FRAME AND CHAIR
A mesh frame includes a side frame, wherein the side frame includes a first face in contact with a human body during use, the first face being provided with a recess, the recess obliquely extending towards an inner side of the side frame and configured to snap a mesh to the mesh frame.
Compliant backrest
A backrest includes a primary frame having a pair of laterally spaced first uprights defining a first opening therebetween, a first front surface and a first rear surface. A secondary frame includes a pair of laterally spaced second uprights defining a second opening therebetween, a second rear surface facing the first front surface of the primary frame and a second front surface, wherein the secondary frame is coupled to the primary frame, and wherein at least portions of the first and second openings are aligned. A flexible shell overlies and is coupled to the second front surface of the secondary frame. The flexible shell includes a third rear surface visible through the aligned portions of the first and second openings.
