Vehicle seat and assembling method therefor
A vehicle seat includes a pad having an air passage, a skin material, and a skin locking clip embedded in the pad and configured to tuck in a prescribed linear portion of the skin material. The pad includes a main body member in which the skin locking clip is embedded, an intermediate layer member arranged on the main body member, and a surface layer member arranged on the intermediate layer member. The main body member includes a linear bulging portion extending along the linear portion and bulging so as to define a plane substantially identical to a surface of the surface layer member, and the skin material is tucked in by the skin locking clip at a portion extending further from the surface layer member than the linear bulging portion.
Method of upholstering truss
An apparatus for upholstering a truss allows an operator to staple a fabric web to the truss, rotate the truss, further staple the semi-finished truss and cut the fabric web. The truss is fully upholstered after the end surfaces of the truss are wrapped up in fabric and the fabric stapled in place. The apparatus may accommodate different size trusses. A web of fabric is pulled around at least one roller in the apparatus by rotation of two vise mechanisms on opposite sides of the truss.
Removable cushion for a chair, mold for making a cushion and a chair having a removable cushion
A removable cushion for a chair having an outer surface and an inner foam, as well as at least one magnetic member. The inner foam and the outer surface are formed from the same polymer, with the outer surface forming an integral skin over the inner foam. The outer surface defines an upper surface and a lower surface. The lower surface is structurally configured to be positioned in an abutting relationship with a seating surface of a chair. The at least one magnetic member is embedded within one of the outer surface and the inner foam, the at least one magnetic member positioned closer to the lower surface than the upper surface of the outer surface. A chair having the cushion, and a mold is likewise disclosed, as is a method of manufacturing the cushion.
Outer layer engagement clip
In a clip for engagement of an outer layer, the outer layer covering a foam member in a state held by the foam member being caught to a foam member side by engagement of an engaged portion provided at a rear side of the outer layer, the clip includes a base configured to be held by the foam member, a pair of projection walls erected on the base and facing each other, engagement portions extending from the projection walls in a width direction of the projection walls, and arranged to be swingable substantially parallel to the base or horizontally, wherein the engaged portion is configured to be sandwiched between the engagement portions to elastically engage. Accordingly, since the engagement portion bends horizontally relative the base, the overall height can be made low.
Protective cover for furniture
A cover assembly for use with a piece of furniture comprising a seat portion and a support portion. The seat portion and the support portion define a gap and a bottom space. The cover assembly comprises a protective sheet and an anchor member. At least a portion of the protective sheet is folded to define a sheet edge. At least a portion of the sheet edge is adapted to be inserted into the gap defined by the seat portion and the support portion of the piece of furniture. The anchor member is adapted to be arranged in the bottom space and to engage the sheet edge to resist displacement of the sheet edge out of the gap portion such that at least a portion of the protective sheet may be held in place relative to the piece of furniture.
Chair assembly with upholstery covering
A seating arrangement includes a base, a seat assembly operably coupled to the base, and a back assembly that includes a substantially rigid back frame including a pair of side portions spaced from one another and extending upward from the base, and a substantially flexible back shell including a front surface and a rear surface opposite the front surface, a plurality of laterally-extending slots that extend between the front surface and the rear surface and that cooperate to define a plurality of laterally-extending ribs therebetween, where a pair of laterally-extending ribs of the plurality of laterally-extending ribs are connected to one another via a vertically-extending rib located at a substantial midpoint across a width of the back shell, and wherein the back shell is coupled to each of the side portions of the back frame at locations above the plurality of laterally-extending slots.
SEAT COMPRISING SUSPENSION FABRIC WITH COMPRESSION LIMITERS
A suspended fabric seat includes a frame, a woven fabric suspended in the frame and a plurality of compression limiters attached to the woven fabric. The woven fabric is formed from monofilament fibers that are oriented in a first direction and textile fibers oriented in a second direction transverse to the first direction. The plurality of compression limiters are oriented in the first direction and are formed from a material compatible with the woven fabric. A method for making the suspended fabric seat is also disclosed.
VIBROTACTILE SUPPORT SYSTEM
A vibrotactile support with suppressed distortion and destructive interference having a rigid frame within which is tensioned a high-density material panel in a supportive configuration. A low-durometer, high specific gravity material user interface pad is placed on the high-density panel on the user-supporting side and a plurality of acoustic drivers are attached to the opposing side of the high-density material panel to transmit vibrations through the high-density material panel, the pad, and the user's skin. The acoustic drivers are supplied from an amplifier which is supplied from an electronic audio source. The amplifier may also drive a set of headphones for the user. The audio source may be from any known electronic audio source, including audio-visual presentations. Various shapes and configurations of the vibrotactile support are possible. For non-limiting examples, the vibrotactile support may be configured as a lounge chair, upright chair, baby cradle, or flat bed.
