An apparatus for drilling a manhole includes a drill comprising a first motor and a drill bit. A rail extends longitudinally away from an exterior surface of the manhole. A carriage is movably engaged with the rail and is coupled to the drill. A mounting device supports the rail on an exterior of the manhole. The mounting device comprises features to transfer axial loading on the drill bit to the manhole. A method for drilling an opening in a manhole includes suspending a drill from a rail coupled to an exterior of the manhole. The rail extends laterally outwardly from the manhole. A drill bit forming part of the drill is rotated while moving the drill longitudinally along the rail toward the manhole. Axial reactive force generated by the drill is transferred to the manhole.

Portable lathe machine

A rotating machining device for machining a work piece includes a support housing adapted for mounting on the work piece and a headstock rotatably mounted on the support housing about an axis. The headstock including an internal gear. A drive module is arranged to drive rotation of the headstock about the axis and at least one gear connection is formed between the internal gear and the drive module. The at least one gear connection is positioned radially inside of an outer diameter of the support housing to protect an operator from a pinch point associated with the at least one gear connection.

Drill chuck

The present invention provides a new drill chuck that resolves the problem that the excessive clamping force of the existing drill chuck makes it inconvenient to open the drill chuck and easily damages the cutters. The new drill chuck comprises a front-body, an after-body, and clamping jaws, wherein a thread is provided on the clamping jaw, the after-body is provided with master gears, slave gears are provided between the clamping jaws and the after-body, the master gear fits with the slave gear, a thread is provided inside the slave gear, and the thread of the slave gear fits with the thread of the clamping jaw.

TOOL HOLDER INTERFACE OF A MACHINE TOOL, TOOL TURRET AND TOOL HOLDER FOR LIVE TOOLS

A tool turret includes a turret body having at least one connecting slot for replaceably mounting a tool holder to the turret and a transmission shaft arranged at the connecting slot. The transmission shaft is configured to transmit a drive torque to the mounted tool holder, and includes a torque receiving-side section for receiving driving torque and a connecting-side section for connecting to the mounted tool holder. The connecting-side section has a first gearing for transmitting the drive torque to a corresponding tool holder gearing, wherein at the torque receiving-side section a contacting part is provided for receiving the torque of the drive unit. A mating surface is provided at the connecting-side section of the transmission shaft and is arranged to contact a surface of the mounted tool holder for interacting with the tool holder to remove a gap between the first gearing and the corresponding mounted tool holder gearing.

Method for detecting a slip clutch release event, and power tool

A method for detecting whether a slip clutch release event has taken place in a power tool includes determining a first speed of a gear device by a first sensor, determining a second speed of a motor by a second sensor, and determining a current value by a third sensor. The method further includes determining a state of the power tool by using the first and second speeds and the current value, determining a state of the gear device in dependence on the current value by a control device, ascertaining a state of activity of the slip clutch in dependence on the first and second speeds by the control device, and ascertaining by the control device by a combination of the state of the gear device and the state of activity of the slip clutch whether the slip clutch release event has taken place.
