The invention involves the extraction process of a glow plug pencil (23) or a broken pencil (23) which is stuck in a cylinder head (13) housing (11) of a glow plug engine comprising a lower (19) and upper (17) part, so that the upper part (17) forms a shoulder (21) with the lower part (19), the pencil (23) being stuck in the lower part (19). The process is remarkable in that it includes a step (a) for drilling a bore in the pencil (23) according to the longitudinal direction of the latter which is performed with the use of a drill bit (1) comprising a drilling part (5) with flutes (7) and a shank (3) respectively having a diameter smaller and greater than the lower part diameter (19) of the housing (11) so that the shank (3) forms a shoulder (9) with the drilling part (5), and in that step a) for drilling the bore includes the drilling of the pencil (23) until the said shoulder (9) of the drill bit (1) is positioned to a stop against the shoulder (21) of the housing (11).

Chuck jaw stopping mechanism

A chuck jaw stopping mechanism is disclosed for forming a soft jaw for a lathe. An example of the chuck jaw stopping mechanism includes a stopping device. The example chuck jaw stopping mechanism also includes a securement device configured to connect the stopping device on a master jaw of a chuck of the lathe. The example chuck jaw stopping mechanism also includes a lower surface of the stopping device that moves against a portion of an outer circumference of the chuck in a closed position. The lower surface also moves away from the portion of the outer circumference of the chuck in an open position to form a gap between the lower surface of the stopping device and the portion of the outside circumference of the chuck.

To perform machining on a workpiece under wider variety of machining conditions. A first rising surface is adjacent to a cutting portion across a first surface, the first rising surface being inclined upward away from the first surface in a direction along a center axis and being away from the center axis toward a rear end of a main body. A second rising surface extends from a second surface toward the rear end of the main body, and is inclined upward away from the second surface in the direction along the center axis. In the direction along the center axis, a rear end of the first rising surface is closer to the rear end of the main body than a front end of the second rising surface.

Stop for a drilling, milling or countersinking tool
10213843 · 2019-02-26 · ·

The invention relates to a stop for a rotating drilling, milling or countersinking tool which comprises a stop sleeve which is freely rotatably coupled, by means of a sliding or rolling bearing, around the tool. A first bearing bush of the bearing supports the stop sleeve. A second bearing bush of the bearing sits in a rotationally fixed manner on a shaft sleeve. The shaft sleeve can be pushed and fastened on a shaft of the tool. In a secondary aspect, the invention relates to a drilling, milling or countersinking tool having such a stop.

Selection system having improved axial locking

A selection system, comprising: a sheath defining an internal housing extending in a longitudinal direction; a link rod disposed in said internal housing, and extending in the longitudinal direction; and a selection slide mounted to slide in the internal housing, about the link rod; the link rod being held stationary relative to the sheath against movement in translation in the longitudinal direction by stop means; the system being characterized in that the stop means comprise: a base that is a body of revolution and includes a conical portion; and a shell comprising two shell portions each including a conical portion configured to come to bear in plane manner against the conical portion of the base.

DEPTH SETTER TOOL

A depth setter tool includes a spacer having an inner diameter sized to fit around a shank of a driver bit such that the spacer can rotate about an axis passing through a center of the driver bit and independently of the driver bit. The spacer further includes an opening extending along an entire length of the spacer from a first end of the spacer to a second end of the spacer. The opening provides access to the inner diameter thereby allowing the spacer to be engaged onto the shank of the driver bit. The depth setter tool also includes a stopper. In an example, the stopper is donut-shaped and includes a compliant material that engages around the first end of the spacer.

Drill Chuck Assembly
20180326506 · 2018-11-15 ·

A drill chuck assembly. The drill chuck assembly includes a rapid change mechanism configured to retain a drill bit shank inserted therein. The drill chuck assembly includes a body having a bore with a trilobe cross-section that is configured to receive a triangular and hexagonally shaped drill bit shank, interchangeably. The bore includes a slot positioned in each lobe that slidably contains a detent ball therein. A collar is affixed annularly around the body and defines a channel extending around the body. A sleeve is slidably mounted around the body. The sleeve includes a tapered end that is slidably disposed within the channel and has circular apertures that are in communication with the slots of the bore for reception of the detent balls. The sleeve is spring biased towards the collar, which forces the detent balls against an angular wall within the channel. The angular wall in turn forces the detent balls laterally towards a center of the bore, thereby exerting a force on a drill bit shank inserted into the bore and preventing the withdrawal of the shank from the bore. When the bias force of the sleeve is counteracted by sliding the sleeve about its longitudinal axis, the detent balls move outwardly along the angular wall, thereby relieving the force exerted onto the shank by the wall and allowing the shank to be withdrawn.
