Collet adapter
A collet adaptor 20 including a work piece clamp mechanism 29. The collet adaptor 20 is rotatable about a first axis A and the work piece clamp mechanism 29 is mounted within the collet adaptor 20 for rotation with the collect adaptor 20. The clamp mechanism 29 is also mounted for movement laterally to the first axis A during rotation of the collet adaptor 29. The clamp mechanism 29 can also be mounted within the collect adaptor 20 for rotational movement lateral to the first axis A during rotation of the collect adaptor 20.
Automotive wheel CNC (Computed Numerical Control) Lathe
The present invention is a novel machine for repairing damaged wheel rims whereby the machine is a combination CNC and manual lathe configured of performing all of the required tasks for repairing damaged wheel rims in a single unit.
DRILLING SYSTEM FOR DEEP HOLES
The invention is directed to a drill system that better uses the power curve of modern machine tools. The drill system uses IC inserts to perform the major hole diameter cutting, and a central drilling system that cuts the remaining minor diameter portion of the hole, and is configured to see less cutting surface footage, due to its position from the rotating center of the tool. A connection between the drill head and a holder body secures the drill head in a manner to effectively absorb lateral drilling forces. The drill system allows for a large diameter deep hole that remains straight throughout to be drilled at higher speed and lighter feed rates thus offering a more productive tool that takes advantage of the power curves and lower thrust capabilities of modern machine tools.
PRESSING MEMBER, TOOL BODY AND CUTTING TOOL
A pressing member is configured to be inserted into a pocket of a tool body for pressing and fixing a cutting insert placed in a mounting part of the pocket onto a mounting surface of the mounting part. The pressing member includes a wedge part having a contacting surface that comes into contact with an inner surface of the pocket, and a pressing surface that is in contact with the cutting insert. The pressing surface is formed so as to gradually come close to the contacting surface in an insertion direction into the pocket. The pressing member also includes a pressure-receiving part that is pushed into the pocket in the insertion direction by a fastening component that is screwed into the pocket.
INSERT HOLDER ASSEMBLY HAVING CUTTING INSERT INDEXING ARRANGEMENT, CUTTING TOOL AND METHOD FOR INDEXING
A cutting insert includes at least two peripheral cutting edges. An insert holder assembly includes an insert holder which include an insert pocket and an ejector chamber connected by a through hole. The insert holder assembly includes an ejector member located at least partially in the ejection chamber, and a compressible biasing member. In an inner position, the biasing member exerts a compressive force on the ejector member. When the cutting insert is releasably attached to the insert holder by a fastening member which is connected to the ejector member, to constitute a fastened position of a cutting tool, the insert holder assembly is in the inner position and the fastening member clamps the cutting insert so that the insert lower surface abuts the pocket base surface.
Cutting tool assembly
A cutting tool assembly includes: a tool body extending in a longitudinal direction; a lower jaw extending and protruding forward from the tool body; a clamping portion disposed to be spaced apart from a top surface of the tool body; an upper jaw extending forward from the clamping portion and facing the lower jaw; an elastic connecting portion elastically connecting the tool body and the clamping portion to each other on a rear side of the clamping portion; a clamping screw penetrating the clamping portion downwardly and fastened to the tool body; and an upper coolant channel through which coolant flows, the upper coolant channel penetrating the elastic connection part, the clamping portion, and the upper jaw. In a width direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, a width of the clamping portion is in a range of 40% to 80% of a width of the tool body.
Rotary cutting tool and holding element for a rotary cutting tool
The described rotary cutting tool comprises a tool body extending along a rotational axis and a cutting insert comprising at least one cutting edge. The tool body is mounted in a mounting pocket delimited by two clamping fingers. A clamping finger bore is provided on each of the clamping fingers. The cutting insert also has a through bore. A holding element is arranged in the clamping finger bores and in the through bore to couple the cutting insert to the tool body. A section of the holding element located within the through bore is crowned. A holding element for such a rotary cutting tool is also presented.
