The fourth abutting surface and the at least one sealing member are in an interference fit.

Rotary cutting insert and support device

This invention relates to cutting tools used to machine materials to produce new surfaces and chips of removed material. Embodiments of this invention allow round rotating cutting inserts to be used in a more economical way, with improved accuracy, with improved sealing, and with greater ease of use. The rotary support device and cutting inserts may be used in either radial or tangential mounting types of cutters. It also provides a built-in, fully sealed means of fine adjustment of the cutting insert that is useful in some applications.

Power tool

A spindle of a drilling tool includes a socket portion having a first axial length (a1) of a first diameter (d1) for receiving and attaching a drill bit to the spindle. The spindle includes a fluid conduit having a second diameter (d2) narrower than (d1) for conveying a fluid to the socket portion. An interface space with diameter (d1) is formed between the fluid conduit and the drill bit when the drill bit is installed in the socket portion. A fluid conveyor, having a third diameter (d3) narrower than (d1), connects the fluid conduit to the drill bit to avoid fluid gathering in a periphery of the interface space. The fluid conveyor includes a first O-ring abutting a mouth of the fluid conduit, a second O-ring abutting a mouth of a fluid channel of the drill bit, and a spring between the first and second O-rings.

ROUND TOOTH CUTTERS

A device for mechanically removing material from a workpiece or bulk feedstock, thereby creating chips of removed material while producing a new surface on the workpiece or bulk feedstock. The device comprises a body and at least one round cutting insert that is tangentially mounted on the body. Location and orientation of the insert is characterized by a reference plane offset and an insert axis angle. The insert has an outwardly-facing rake surface on which chips are formed. A planar flank surface is oriented relative to a cutting motion so as to provide clearance between the cutting insert and the surface created by removal of a layer that is converted into chips. A circular cutting edge lies at the intersection of the flank and rake surfaces.

Parting blade and grooving and parting-off tool

A parting blade includes an internal cooling agent supply and has two substantially plane-parallel lateral faces and a continuous transversal bore connected to a cooling agent channel that runs parallel to the lateral faces in the interior of the parting blade. In order to provide a parting blade that has no projection on one side, a stopper is provided having two substantially parallel end faces and a circumferential face that connects the end faces. The stopper can be inserted into the transversal bore of the parting blade, thereby sealing the transversal bore relative to at least one lateral face of the parting blade. The stopper terminates without protruding over the sealed lateral face, flush with the lateral face. The stopper has an opening on both the end face and the circumferential face. The openings are connected to one another in the interior of the stopper to connect the cooling agent channel to a cooling agent source.

Quick-change clamping unit for toolholder and method of using same

A clamping unit includes a drawbar having an interior surface defining a fluid transport channel. A fluid transport pipe is at least partially disposed within the interior of the drawbar and is in fluid communication with a fluid transport adapter and a fluid transport channel to enable high pressure fluid to be provided directly to a toolholder. The clamping unit further comprises at least one spring-like member positioned around the outer surface of the drawbar to provide a biasing force against an end plate. The drawbar is movable along a longitudinal axis between a locked position and a tool release position by applying and not applying hydraulic pressure against the end plate, thereby providing a quick-change feature of the invention.

Hydraulic chuck

A hydraulic chuck includes a chuck body, a fixed seat, a rotary seat and a plurality of flexible seal members. The fixed seat is fixedly mounted to the chuck body. The rotary seat is rotatably mounted to the fixed seat and cooperates with the fixed seat to define a gap therebetween. Each of the seal members has a first annular segment fixedly mounted to the fixed seat, a neck segment extending from the first annular segment and through the gap, and a second annular segment connected to an end of the neck segment distal from the first annular segment, and disposed adjacent to the rotary seat.

Machine tool

A machine tool capable of facilitating a process of mounting a fluid supplying unit to a spindle supporting unit is provided. The machine tool has a rotating unit including a spindle provided with a workpiece chucking unit, a supporting unit which rotatably supports the spindle around a spindle axis, and a fluid supplying unit removably mounted on a rear end of the supporting unit to allow fluid flow inside the spindle toward the chucking unit. The fluid supplying unit has an insert to be received in the rotating unit in the direction of the spindle axis. A labyrinth clearance is formed between the outer circumferential surface of the insert and the inner circumferential surface of the rotating unit when the fluid supplying unit is mounted on the rear end of the supporting unit. The labyrinth clearance allows rotation of the rotating unit and restricts leakage of the supplied fluid from inside the spindle when the rotating unit is rotated.

Core drill with detachable end portion
10220543 · 2019-03-05 ·

The invention relates to a core drill with an end portion (3) and a drill bit portion (1-2). The end portion and the drill bit portion are joinable in a watertight fashion with a sealing element (11). The sealing element (11) is provided in a space between the end portion and the drill bit portion, such that it is being compressed in a sealing fashion when the end portion and the drill bit portion are joined. The end portion and the drill bit portion are locked together with a joining element (8, 10) which achieves this locking effect when moves in the radial direction of the core drill. When the joining element moves in this direction, the end portion and the drill bit portion move towards each other. Thus the sealing element is being compressed while concurrently the end portion and the drill bit portion are joined together. This is further achieved without the joining element having to extend in the axial direction of the core drill. Typically, the joining element (8, 10) is constituted by a set screw.
