Double eccentric positioning apparatus
A double eccentric positioning apparatus uses two equal offset eccentric bushings to accurately position a tool in two dimensions. Miniature servo motors and precise gearing control the rotation of each eccentric bushing, which controls the direction of the offset vectors. The offset vectors are used to determine the final position of the drill bushing. The desired rotation angles can be mathematically calculated based on desired position. The inner eccentric bushing is located concentric to the offset of the outer eccentric bushing. This allows any position, within a radius of two times the eccentric offset, to be achieved. The use of worm gearing on the eccentric bushings prevents back-driving of the servo motors, due to the lead angle of the worm gears, and the friction between the worm wheel and worm gear.
Clamping device for tool holder
A clamping device for releasably holding a tool holder shank includes a spindle rotatably mounted inside a housing. A drawbar is axially moveable in a bore in the housing between an advanced releasing position and a retracted locking position. A plurality of engagement members are moveable under the effect of the drawbar into locking engagement with the tool holder shank. An actuating member is slidably mounted to the spindle. A motion transferring mechanism is arranged for transferring an axial movement of the actuating member into a movement of the drawbar. Two or more hydraulic actuators are arranged in or mounted on the housing on different sides of the spindle and configured to move the actuating member in relation to the spindle. A connecting element forms a connection in radial direction between the actuating member and piston members of the hydraulic actuators.
PRESSING MEMBER, TOOL BODY AND CUTTING TOOL
A pressing member is configured to be inserted into a pocket of a tool body for pressing and fixing a cutting insert placed in a mounting part of the pocket onto a mounting surface of the mounting part. The pressing member includes a wedge part having a contacting surface that comes into contact with an inner surface of the pocket, and a pressing surface that is in contact with the cutting insert. The pressing surface is formed so as to gradually come close to the contacting surface in an insertion direction into the pocket. The pressing member also includes a pressure-receiving part that is pushed into the pocket in the insertion direction by a fastening component that is screwed into the pocket.
Rapid change chuck adapter
A rapid change chuck adapter system includes a chuck adapter that is removably attachable to the chuck in place of removed chuck teeth. The chuck adapter is operable to engage a collet such that an operation of the chuck as if the chuck teeth were not removed operates the collet via the chuck adapter.
