10857644 · 2020-12-08 · ·

A dust collector includes body, a dust-storing part, a sliding part, a dust-transfer passage, and a biasing member. The sliding part is held by the body to be slidable in a specified axial direction and has a suction port. The dust-transfer passage connects the suction port and the dust-storing part. The biasing member biases the sliding part in a first direction of the axial direction. The sliding part is configured to be normally held in an initial position in which the sliding part protrudes from the body by a specified length in the first direction, and to be moved in a second direction opposite to the first direction against the biasing force when pressed in the second direction. The dust collector includes a cushioning member configured to be interposed between the body and the sliding part in the axial direction when the sliding part is placed in the initial position.

Method for controlling flow localization in machining processes

A method for controlling flow localization in machining process is disclosed. By application of a constraint of sufficient level in the deformation zone and modifying the surface boundary conditions, suppression of unsteady flow and flow instabilities is achieved. The method enhances machined component quality by ensuring a uniform deformation state on the machined surface. Machined components are produced by ensuing uniform deformation by adopting constrained-cutting process for suppressing the instabilities and unsteady flow through a pre-determined location of the constraint of the constrained machining process relative to the machining tool.

This disclosure relates to a machining tool having a base body which is rotatable about a rotary axis and movable in a feed direction along the rotary axis, at least one cutting element which is fixed on the base body and has a front cutting edge pointing in the feed direction, and a flute associated with the cutting element and formed by a recess in the base body. In order to control the chip flow, according to this disclosure, a flute cover mounted on the base body is proposed, which outwardly covers a chip removal area of the flute adjoining the cutting element.

SELF-ADJUSTING POCKET HOLE JIG SYSTEM

A self-adjusting pocket hole jig system is presented having a base, an upright assembly operably connected to the base, a clamping assembly, operably connected to the upright assembly, a handle operably connected to the clamping assembly, and a drill guide assembly operably connected to the clamping assembly. The drill guide assembly is configured and arranged to move along the upright assembly between an unclamped position and a clamped position in response to movement of the handle. Movement of the handle simultaneously adjusts the height of the drill guide assembly as well as facilitates clamping of the drill guide assembly for workpieces of various thicknesses.

Swarf handing apparatus

A cutting tool comprising at least one blade arranged at an axial cutting head end of a tool carrier. The tool carrier comprises a chip-removal space that receives material chips removed by the blade. In some embodiments, the blade is adjacent to a chip passage feeding into the chip-removal space, which passage is limited by a radial chip gap partially limited by the blade and from there by a first and second passage surface, the first passage surface a continuation of the chip surface of the blade, the second passage surface running at an angle and widening relative to same, and is closed and limited at least in an axial sub-section facing the cutting head end, all around by a peripheral wall as a third passage surface, wherein at least one coolant channel is formed within the peripheral wall, which is provided to guide coolant to the cutting head end.
