KEY DUPLICATION MACHINE
Apparatus, methods, and other embodiments associated with a key duplication machine are described. In one embodiment, an assembly for duplicating a master key includes an optical imaging device, a logic, a clamping assembly, and a cutting member. The optical imaging device is capable of capturing an optical image of at least a portion of the master key. The logic is capable of determining a key pattern of the master key from the optical image of the master key. The clamping assembly is capable of clamping a key blank and the cutting member is capable of cutting a key pattern into said key blank.
Drilling device and method for adjusting cutting operational parameters during drilling of a multilayer element
A method for drilling an element to be drilled by a drilling device and a cutting tool including drill margins and cutting edges. The method includes determining at least one load value representing overall drag due to internal friction of the drilling device and to friction of drill margins in the element to be drilled. Determining includes: stopping a drilling operation in progress; partial retraction of the cutting tool on a predetermined distance, the predetermined distance being chosen such that the cutting edges are no longer in contact with the element to be drilled; driving the cutting tool with predetermined cutting parameters; measuring at least one load value during the driving of the cutting tool with the cutting parameters before its cutting edges again come into contact with the element to be drilled and after stabilization of the load values, the measured load value representing the overall drag.
Portable and rechargeable drill system
The present invention is a portable and rechargeable drill system that allows a user to conveniently carry on the user's body and perform work. As a preferred and non-limiting example, the portable and rechargeable drill system is lightweight and is comprised of a drill handpiece, a battery-powered control device, and a securing member or mechanism for the drill handpiece. The drill system may further comprise a control device case or holder. The drill handpiece preferably comprises a first end, a second end, a drill bit-spindle and housing assembly, a drill bit locking mechanism, a motor and housing assembly, and a power cord.
Easy hole start operation for drilling power tools
A power tool, such as a drilling power tool, configured to perform an easy hole start operation upon actuation of a trigger. When the trigger is actuated, the motor is driven at a low speed value. The motor speed is increased to a second speed value during a predetermined time threshold and then driven at the second speed value until the trigger is no longer actuated. In some embodiments, the easy hole start operation may be implemented by an easy hole start switch. In some embodiments, if the easy hole start operation persists for a time greater than a predetermined time threshold, then the motor will shut off.
Generic depth indicator for surgical navigational tools
A depth-indicating device for determining the depth of insertion of a surgical tool comprising a pair of spaced apart end caps, separated by a compressed spring, with the surgical tool passing through axial openings in both end caps, and firmly attached to one of the end caps, but free to slide through the opening in the other. A guide tube is attached to the second endcap, such that the surgical tool can be guided to its operating position on a body part. The second end cap and guide tube are attached to a location having a known position relative to the body part. A tracking marker is attached to the first end cap such that its longitudinal position can be tracked using a remote racking camera. Since the surgical tool is attached to the first end cap, the tool position is also tracked by the tracking system.
FACING ACCESSORY FOR A PORTABLE BORING APPARATUS
There is described a facing accessory for a portable boring apparatus, the accessory comprising: a shaft mounting portion for mounting to a longitudinal shaft of the portable boring apparatus extending along a longitudinal axis; a tool holder secured to the shaft mounting portion and adapted to receive a facing tool thereon, the tool holder comprising at least a telescopic arm for enabling movement of the facing tool towards and away from the shaft mounting portion along a radial axis relative to the longitudinal shaft; and an actuator operatively connected to the second section of the telescopic section for translating the second section relative to the first section along the radial axis.
POSITION FEEDBACK CONTROL METHOD AND POWER TOOL
Various embodiments of power tool and method of operating same are described. The power tool may include a first position sensor, a second position sensor, a third position sensor, and a controller. The first, second, and third position sensors may each generate a signal indicative of a distance between the respective position sensor and a workpiece. The controller may determine one or more angles of the power tool with respect to the workpiece based on the first, second, and third signal and present an indication as to whether the one or more angles are within a predetermined range. The controller may further obtain a depth measurement based on the first signal, the second signal, and the third signal and generate, based on the obtained depth measurement, one or more control signals that control operation of the power tool.
Acoustic breakthrough detection
Disclosed techniques include creating a pressure differential within an interior of a dual-wall component relative to pressure at an exterior of the dual-wall component, fabricating a hole in a first wall of the dual-wall component, while fabricating the hole in the first wall of the dual-wall component, acoustically monitoring the hole fabrication, while acoustically monitoring the hole fabrication, detecting breakthrough of the first wall of the dual-wall component based on an acoustic signal due to gas passing through the fabricated hole, and based on the acoustic signal, ceasing the fabrication of the hole.
Instrumented tool post, and associated tool holder
A tool post of a machine tool, in which the tool post is capable of receiving a cutting insert for machining a component, is provided. The tool post includes at least one sensor capable of determining a parameter representative of a cutting action between a component to be machined and a cutting insert; and a support housing which is electrically connected to the sensor and includes a battery and a printed circuit board supplied with current by the battery. The printed circuit board supports, at least partially, a radio transmission unit. The housing includes a base and a cover which can be detached from one another. The battery is supported by the cover and the printed circuit board by the base or vice versa.
Adjustable hardware jig
A motorized hardware jig that allows for the changing and setting of drill guides in a matter of seconds without the need for any tools. The motorized jig receives a height for the panel on the face of a drawer and a center-to-center measurement for the hardware. The motorized jig automatically moves the drill guides to the desired position for drilling holes for the hardware.
