Triangular Tangential Milling Insert and Milling Tool
A reversible and indexable tangential milling insert includes two major surfaces and a peripheral surface which extends therebetween. The milling insert includes a mid-plane (M) located midway between the major surfaces, and an insert clamping bore with a central bore axis (H). The peripheral surface includes three side surfaces, each of which includes exactly two cutting portions, two relief portions and two minor abutment surfaces located on opposite sides of the mid-plane (M), each continuously extends between respective cutting portion and relief portion. Each cutting portion includes a major cutting edge, a minor cutting edge, and a corner cutting edge. In a cross section along a first imaginary plane perpendicular to the bore axis (H), each minor abutment surface is concavely curved, and on each side surface, the minor abutment surfaces converge outwardly.
Golf club head with face grooves and texturing
A cutting tool for simultaneously forming grooves and face surface features on the face of a golf club head, and methods of using said cutting tool, is disclosed herein. The tool preferably includes at least one groove cutting portion, which creates a groove having a sidewall angle, at least one radius cutting portion, which creates each groove's edge radii, and at least one face cutting portion, which flattens and/or textures the landing area disposed between each pair of grooves and is wider than the at least one groove cutting portion. The cutting tool of the present invention preferably spins around an axis parallel to the golf club face, and can include one or more micro-feature forming portions to create positive and/or negative texturing in the land areas between each pair of grooves.
Insert for slot milling
The present invention relates to an insert for slot milling, and more specifically, to an insert for slot milling which can smoothly form a front end surface of a concave portion of a slot formed at a cutting target, and provides a safe use thereof by preventing the erroneous installation of cutting inserts coupled with insert-installation seats on both sides of a milling cutter body to prevent damage of the cutting inserts and the milling cutter. To this end, the present invention is characterized in that the plurality of cutting inserts are provided around the slot milling cutter body, one of two cutting inserts protrudes with respect to one side of the milling cutter body and the other protrudes with respect to the opposite side of the milling cutter body, and two cutting inserts are formed with different structures to prevent the erroneous installation thereof on the insert-installation seats prepared on both sides of the milling cutter body.
