SQUARE-SHAPED CUTTING INSERT HAVING CURVED SECONDARY AND CORNER CUTTING EDGES, AND ROTARY CUTTING TOOL
An indexable cutting insert has upper and lower surfaces with a peripheral surface extending therebetween and having four side surfaces alternating with four corner surfaces. The side and corner surfaces intersect the upper surface to form side and corner cutting edges, respectively. Each side cutting edge includes a primary cutting edge adjoining one of the corner cutting edges at a first endpoint and a secondary cutting edge adjoining another one of the corner cutting edges at a second endpoint. In a top view, the four primary cutting edges define an imaginary first square, each primary cutting edge is tangential to its adjoining corner cutting edge, and each secondary cutting edge is curved and entirely located in one of four imaginary quadrants. The insert is removably secured in a rotary cutting tool such that one of the secondary cutting edges contains the axially forwardmost point of the insert's upper peripheral edge.
Tool holding apparatus
A tool holding apparatus for interfacing a machine spindle receiver of a milling machine, which includes a holder nose connected to a holder body configured with a first divided section integrally connecting to a second divided section and a centralized axial bore for housing therewithin a tension bolt, a lock nut, and a thrust nut. The holder nose includes an axial bore incorporating a reverse-tapered configuration and three flat sectors to correspond with an equally configured shaft portion of a tool, whereupon the threaded attachment of the thrust nut to the holder nose furthers a locking arrangement of the tool within the axial bore to prevent inadvertent axial and rotational movement thereof during aggressive milling operations.

Tool And Tool Holder Assembly
An assembly of a tool and a tool holder may include the tool, which may have an elongated body with a socket, and the tool holder, which may have a body with a first bore configured to receive at least a portion of the elongated body, and a second bore substantially transverse to the first bore. The assembly may also have an impinging member including a body having an end with a radial surface. In an assembled state, a portion of the elongated body of the tool may be positioned within the first bore of the body of the tool such that the socket and the second bore may be substantially aligned, and the body of the impinging member may be positioned within the second bore with the radial surface pressed against the elongated body in the socket at a predetermined torque.

KNIFE HOLDER AND BASE SYSTEM FOR MILLING MACHINE
The present invention belongs to the technical field of milling machines, and mainly relates to a novel cutter holder and base system for a milling machine. The cutter holder and base system according to the present invention aims to solve the problems in the prior art that a cutter holder structure is unreasonable, the cutting force of a cutter cannot be well dispersed in the cutter holder and a base, so that the service lives of the cutter holder and the base are shortened. The base is provided with a hole-shaped inner area and two curved surface areas, where the two curved surface areas are disposed in a circumferential area of the hole-shaped inner area, the curved surface areas are arranged at an angle, and each curved surface area includes two curved surfaces. The cutter holder improves its own usage performance while a lighter weight is achieved.

Positioning device, in particular tool positioning device, for a processing center, and processing center with same
A positioning device, in particular a tool positioning device, for a processing center that comprises a compound slide with a first slide movable in a longitudinal direction of the processing center and a second slide that can be moved in a transverse direction relative to the first slide. The first and the second slides have a matching offset configuration of the sides opposite each other, that bear guides and guide elements that interact with each other in order to guide the second slide in the transverse direction. These guides and guide elements are in part arranged at different heights in a vertical direction in such a manner that the second slide is guided on the first slide on at least two spaced apart guiding points, wherein the guiding distance between the guiding points varies during a traversing motion of the second slide relative to the first slide in the transverse direction.

TOOL HOLDER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A TOOL RECEIVING PORTION FOR SUCH A TOOL HOLDER
A tool holder with a main part, a deformable receiving portion for clamping a tool, and at least one blocking element which is designed to engage into a corresponding counter element on the tool in order to prevent the tool from moving axially out of the tool holder. The at least one blocking element is integrally formed with the receiving portion. A clamping system having such a tool holder and a method for producing a receiving portion for such a tool holder are also described.
