Rotary cutting tool
A cutting tool having particular usefulness in milling fall includes a plurality of flutes wherein each flute includes a plurality of reliefs spaced equidistant along a leading cutting wall or edge and a second plurality of reliefs spaced equidistant along a trailing cutting wall or edge and wherein the second plurality of reliefs are off set evenly from the first plurality of reliefs. The plurality of reliefs on a second flute are offset from the plurality of reliefs on a first flute by a distance equal to the equidistance of the plurality of reliefs divided by the total number of flutes.
Cutter Assembly
A cutter assembly is configured to interchange a cutter bit and has a plurality of retaining features to secure the cutter bit to ensure positive retention and alignment along a rotational axis. The cutter bit is retained within a slot of the retainer component and the retainer component is coupled to a chuck component. The retainer component may be detachably attachable to the chuck component by external threads that are configured to thread into the internal threads of the chuck component. The cutter bit may be retained in the slot by a threaded retainer that extends through one side of the retainer component, through a cutter aperture in the cutter bit, through the slot and into a threaded retainer aperture in the opposing side of the retainer component.
Cutting tool, module, cutting tool unit, and cutting system
A cutting tool includes a shaft portion. The shaft portion includes an increased-diameter portion having a diameter larger than a diameter of other portion of the shaft portion. The increased-diameter portion has a recessed portion formed in a peripheral surface of the increased-diameter portion.
Milling cutter and blade part thereof
This milling cutter includes: a blade part 10 having a plurality of tips 12 each having an end cutting edge 121 and a peripheral cutting edge 122, and a blade-body portion 11 which is a plate-shaped body with the plurality of tips 12 fixed to an outer circumference thereof and has a groove 113 in accordance with a position of each tip; and a body 20 being rotatable around a rotational axis and having a front-end portion 21 having a front-end surface to which a rear-end surface of the blade-body portion 11 is fixable detachably and in close contact therewith, and a front-end outer-circumferential portion whose outer diameter is 100/100 to 97/100 using an outer diameter of the blade part 10 as a reference, the front-end outer-circumferential portion having a body-side groove 211 continuous to the groove 113 of the blade-body portion 11 contacted closely.
Multi-part modular tool
A multi-part modular tool rotatable about a longitudinal tool axis (A), comprising: a machining head; a first holding element comprising a body elongated along the longitudinal axis (A) of the tool, in which a passage extends along the longitudinal axis (A) of the tool; a second holding element which can extend in the passage of the first holding element; wherein the machining head can be connected to the second holding element in such a way that the machining head is fixed firmly to the first holding element at least in the axial direction (A) and/or in the radial direction (R), and wherein the passage of the first holding element and the second holding element are adapted to one another such that during a connection process in which the machining head is connected to the second holding element, the second holding element is movable relative to the first holding element.
Cutting insert, cutting tool, and method for manufacturing machined product
A cutting insert in a non-limiting aspect of the present disclosure may include an upper surface having a polygonal shape and including a first side, a lower surface, and a lateral surface. The lateral surface may include a first lateral surface located between the first side and the lower surface. The first lateral surface may include a first region that is flat. The first region may include a first central region, a first upper region and a first lower region. The first upper region may be located closer to the upper surface than the first central region, and may have a larger width than the first central region. The first lower region may be located closer to the lower surface than the first central region, and may be a larger width than the first central region.
