Rotary cutter for machining materials

A rotary cutting tool. The tool has a body with outside diameter (OD), and outer surface, and a longitudinal axis, a plurality of flutes, helical in some embodiments. Flutes include a narrow leading edge land portion with circular segment profile and having flute cutting edge portions along a substantially uniform circumferential location, with an eccentric relief margin rotationally rearward of the narrow leading edge land portions. Face portions are provided with face cutting edge portions, and with a first dish portion adjacent each of the cutting edge portions sloping inwardly and downwardly generally toward a central longitudinal axis at a first dish angle alpha () Corner blend portions extend from flute cutting edge portions to the face cutting edge portions. Corner blend portions are provided in a variety of profiles, including an embodiment wherein the profile of the corner blend portions are truncated before the segment of curvature becomes tangential to the face cutting edge portions. Large core diameters of cutting tools are provided, which gives high strength at when working with axial depths of cut of about three times outside tool diameter or less.

The head includes a cutting portion and an integrally formed threaded shank-connector portion, the latter of which being configured for connecting to a shank. A length-diameter ratio LDR, defined as a cutting portion length L.sub.C divided by a cutting portion diameter D.sub.E, fulfills the condition: LDR1.00.

End mill

Square end mill includes long end cutting edge disposed from end portion on outer peripheral side in radial direction to center in the radial direction when a cutting edge portion is viewed from end face side, and short end cutting edges disposed from other end portions on outer peripheral side in radial direction to middles on center side in radial direction, first gashes disposed on regions from lines connecting end portions on center side in radial direction of the short end cutting edges to center in radial direction to the long end cutting edge on rear side in the rotation direction, second and third gashes disposed on rear and front sides in rotation direction of the first gashes, and all gashes formed in curved surface shapes depressed to a shank side on opposite side in axial direction of the cutting edge portion.

Tool with right-hand and left-hand cutting features extending along the full length of the cutting zone

Rotatable, solid cutting tool with both right-hand spirals and left-hand spirals, each of which includes an interrupted cutting edge having individual cutting edges. Individual cutting edges of the right hand spirals are axially staggered helically around a circumference of a cutting portion with respect to individual cutting edges of the left hand spirals so that, at each axial position along an axial length of the cutting portion, each radial cross-section includes both at least one individual cutting edge on a right hand spiral and at least one individual cutting edge on a left hand spiral. Individual cutting edges have a length along an outer circumference of the cutting tool that is the same for individual cutting edges of the right hand spiral and individual cutting edges of the left hand spirals. Cutting edges on differently handed spirals are both right handed cutting edges or both left handed cutting edges.

A chamfering tool that chamfers an opening edge of a target hole formed in a work, the chamfering tool including a support shaft, a base shaft having the support shaft on a tip end side thereof and being eccentric with respect to the support shaft, and a blade portion having a rake face that is a step surface of a step protrusion portion protruded laterally from the support shaft or that is an end surface of the support shaft. The blade portion including an edge line in a shape of a curve and being bulged to a side away from a center axis of the support shaft, and the edge line being inclined with respect to an axial direction of the support shaft.

MILLING TOOL

A milling tool is suggested having a base body (3), a central axis (M), and a front side (5), whereby at least two geometrically defined first front edges (9) that are arranged, respectively, at front side (5) of base body (3) exhibit a first edge section (13) facing central axis (M).

Milling tool (1) distinguishes itself by the first edge sections (13) of the at least two front edges (9) being formed in an ascending fashion towards center axis (M), so that they form a centering tip (15), and that centering tip (15) is arranged in a recessed manner in an axial direction when compared with an axial outermost point (17) of at least two of the first front edges (9).

Disposable drilling and milling cutter

A disposable drilling and milling cutter for use with an NC or CNC machine tool and configured to be fed in a spiral manner includes a shank, a chip removing groove at one of a plurality of offset positions at one end of the shank, a blade seat at a distal end of the chip removing groove, and a disposable blade locked to the blade seat. The disposable blade has a cutting edge at each of its upper and lower ends, and each cutting edge has an irregular height and a notch. The wavy structural design of the disposable blade enables the disposable drilling and milling cutter to drill and mill in a sectioned manner, to break the drilling/milling chips automatically, and to perform intermittent processing.
