CUTTER, CRANKSHAFT MILLER AND CRANKSHAFT MANUFACTURING METHOD
A cutter performs milling on a crankshaft blank having a journal and a counterweight coupled to the journal. The cutter includes an annular main body part, a first chip, and a second chip. The annular main body part is centered on a predetermined axis center. The first chip is attached to a circumferential surface of the main body part and is used to cut an external circumferential surface of the journal. The second chip is attached to the circumferential surface of the main body part and is used to cut a groove on the external circumferential surface of the journal.
WHIRLING TOOL
A whirling tool for machining a workpiece, having: three or a multiple of three cutting plates, wherein each of the cutting plates comprises at least one cutting edge; a cutting plate holder having a plurality of cutting plate receptacles, wherein each of the cutting plate receptacles is configured to receive one of the cutting plates, wherein the cutting plate receptacles are disposed so as to be distributed in a circumferential direction across the cutting plate holder; and a plurality of fastening elements for releasably fastening the cutting plates in the cutting plate receptacles of the cutting plate holder; wherein the cutting plates comprise at least two different kinds of cutting plates, wherein at least one cutting plate of a first kind, and one cutting plate of a second kind are provided for each group of three cutting plates that are disposed beside one another on the cutting plate holder, wherein the cutting plate of the first kind differs from the cutting plate of the second kind by an overall geometry, by a dimension of the at least one cutting edge, and by a shape of the at least one cutting edge.
Method for preparing a surface before thermal spray-coating
The invention relates to a method for preparing the surface of a substrate (100) for the purpose of accepting and holding a coating sprayed by a plasma torch. Said method includes a machining phase and is characterized that it includes the following phases: producing, by means of a machining tool (200), at least one groove having at least one angled edge; offsetting the tool (200) by moving the tool relative to the surface of the substrate (100) in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the groove and along a path shorter than the projected length of the angled edge; and using said tool (200) on the angled edge of the groove such as to subject said edge to stress and create another offset groove, and so on and so forth, such that the tool (200) irreversibly changes the shape of the ribs (111, 112, 113, 114) finally obtained between each groove, and said ribs adopt undercut surfaces.
Internal milling cutter
An internal milling cutter for producing a recess terminating in a radius in a workpiece, in particular for milling a crankshaft, comprises a tool holder having interchangeable cutting inserts detachably attached thereto. For the production of the radius, a plurality of first interchangeable cutting inserts are provided, which are arranged one after another in the direction of cut and have cutting edges which produce complementary portions of the radius, wherein the first interchangeable cutting inserts for producing the radius are identically configured.
Whirling tool
A whirling tool (21), in particular for cutting a thread, includes a body with cutting teeth integrally machined thereon (23; 47, 51). Inaccuracies caused by mounting cutting teeth on the tool are avoided thereby.
