Compound fillet radii cutter
A compound fillet radii cutter may have a shaft having a cylindrical member, frustoconical cutting surface, a small radius cutting surface having an arc length of a first circle, and a large radius cutting surface having an arc length of a second circle. The frustoconical cutting surface may be disposed between the cylindrical member and the small radius cutting surface. The small radius cutting surface may be disposed between the frustoconical cutting surface and the large radius cutting surface, and a juncture of the large radius cutting surface and the small radius cutting surface may form a tangential union. In this manner, a single cutter may cut radii of various sizes or cut compound radii.
Method of controlling feed axes in machine tool, and machine tool performing machining by using the method of controlling feed axes
Maximum values of actual machining allowances of a workpiece in respective cutting flutes are averaged by control amounts of respective cutting flutes calculated by an arithmetic unit. The arithmetic unit converts the calculated control amounts into an amount in each axis direction and subtracts the value from a feed axis command value in an NC program stored in a storage unit. Then, a numeral value control unit performs machining by controlling respective feed axes based on the subtracted feed axis command value.
Cutting instrument, in particular dental instrument
The present invention relates to a rotary cutting instrument, in particular of the bur type, intended for chirurgical or dental use and comprising an active cutting part and a handle. Said active part is made of a metal carbide and the handle is made of a nickel-titanium alloy. The instrument further comprises an intermediate part made of stainless steel placed between the active part and the handle and metallurgically connected to said active part and to said handle.
STACKED MATERIAL TOOL AND METHOD FOR MACHINING
A tool for machining a stacked material workpiece includes a tool body having one or more helical flutes extending to a forward end of the tool body. Each helical flute has a width defined by a first cutting edge and a second edge, a surface of the flute adjacent the first cutting edge facing the forward end of the tool body and a surface of the flute adjacent the second edge facing away from the forward end of the tool body. Each helical flute can include a first portion having a first negative pitch angle and a second portion having a second negative pitch angle different from the first negative pitch angle, the first portion extending from the forward end of the tool body to the second portion. The tool has only negative pitch angles. A method for machining a stacked material is also disclosed.
Milling tool, use thereof and milling process
A milling tool includes a cutting insert, a holder, a fastener and a shim. The fastener forms a first channel cooperatively with the cutting insert. The first channel is configured to direct coolant towards a top side of the insert. In order to better prevent thermal fatigue of the cutting insert under milling conditions, the shim includes a second channel configured to direct coolant towards a clearance side of the cutting insert. A method of using a milling tool and a milling process are also provided.
Fin for collimating therapeutic radiation
One or more example embodiments of the present invention relates to a fin for collimating therapeutic radiation. The fin comprises a collimation area made of a first material and a holding area made of a second material. Herein, the collimation area and the holding area are pressed together. Herein, the first material is formed to collimate therapeutic radiation. Herein, the holding area can be coupled to an adjustment device for adjusting the fin.
