An infant sleep device that is provided with a number of unique features to improve the functionality of the infant sleep device as well as improve the caregiver experience with the infant sleep device. The infant sleep device may be a bassinet-like device.

The elevated side bed system is configured for use with a primary bed structure. The elevated side bed system rests on the primary bed structure. The elevated side bed system includes a supplemental bed structure, a tenon structure, and a pedestal structure. The tenon structure attaches the supplemental bed structure to the pedestal structure. The pedestal structure elevates the supplemental bed structure above the sleeping surface of the primary bed structure. The pedestal structure forms a load path that transfers the load of the supplemental bed structure to the sleeping surface of the primary bed structure. The supplemental bed structure forms an elevated sleeping surface used by an infant or a companion animal.

A crib includes a walls at least partially defining a crib enclosure, a primary support structure for supporting the walls relative to a surface, a fixation structure fixed relative to the walls, a mattress support translatable vertically relative to the fixation structure and within the crib enclosure, a secondary support structure fixed to the mattress support for supporting the mattress support relative to the surface, and an actuator for vertically translating the mattress support relative to the fixation structure. A mattress support supports a crib mattress within a crib enclosure.
