Hardware fastener with movable threaded element and one or more spring-like members

A hardware fastener with a movable threaded element suspended within a cavity formed in a body. The movable threaded element has an internal surface with threads for cooperating with a threaded fastener. The movable threaded element is suspended in the cavity by the one or more spring-like members such that an area, A, of reduced stiffness is created in the cavity proximate the movable threaded element, thereby allowing the movable threaded element to move a predetermined distance within the cavity when torque is applied to the threaded fastener. The one or more spring-like members store elastic potential energy to prevent the loss of pretension of the threaded fastener that can be caused by heat or vibration. The invention also eliminates the need for a torque wrench when tightening the threaded fastener to a specified torque value.

Indexing system for a milling tool

A milling tool includes an internal indexing mechanism arranged to displace an indexable cutting insert between an inner supported position and an outer indexing position. The indexable cutting insert has a multi-sided shape as seen in the direction of an insert centre axis and side support surfaces are included in the sides of the multi-sided indexable cutting insert. The internal indexing mechanism is arranged to provide a rectilinear movement along the shaft centre axis, between the inner supported position and the outer indexing position, wherein the indexable cutting insert is free to turn in both directions around the insert centre axis in the outer indexing position. An external indexing device for the milling tool and an indexing system is also provided. A disc member is configured with an annular geometry arranged to engage one of the side support surfaces and turn the indexable cutting insert toward the next index position.

Cutting tool, cutting tool holder and cutting insert therefor
RE046858 · 2018-05-22 · ·

A cutting tool comprising a cutting tool holder and a cutting insert adapted to be mounted thereon. The tool holder comprises an insert seat defined by a base and at least one side wall extending from the base to define an insert seat space adapted to receive therein the insert. The seat comprises a support element extending into the insert seat from the base, and a fastening member engageable with the seat. The fastening member is displaceable with respect thereto between a mounting position adapted to allow the insert to be mounted onto the seat and a securing position adapted for securing the insert within the seat. The insert is formed with a securing cavity and when the insert is mounted onto the tool holder and is in the securing position, a portion of the support element and the fastening member is received within the cavity of the insert.

LOCK SPRING AND CUTTING TOOL HAVING A LOCK SPRING

A cutter head (4, 6) having a lock spring (30) utilized with an adjustment screw (16) for preventing the adjustment screw from loosening during machining. Once positioned by turning the adjustment screw, a cutting blade (8) will not change position in a mounting slot (10) due to a loosening adjustment screw.

CUTTING TOOL WITH A CLAMP FOR SECURING A CUTTING INSERT TO A TOOL BODY OF THE CUTTING TOOL

A cutting tool including a tool body with an insert seat and an associated clamp pocket, a cutting insert releasably mountable in the insert seat, a clamp received in the clamp pocket and a screw that extends with play through a through hole in the clamp and is engaged in a hole at the bottom of the clamp pocket, is provided. Upon tightening of the screw, the clamp will slide against an inclined guide surface in the slide pocket via a slide surface on the clamp, which will force the clamp to move transversally to the screw shaft towards the cutting insert such that a clamp protrusion on the clamp is moved into a recess in the cutting insert and clamping surfaces on the clamp are pressed tightly against corresponding contact surfaces on the cutting insert.
