Cable cutter and crimper
11799259 · 2023-10-24 · ·

A cable cutter and crimper is provided including an anvil having an anvil cutting edge. A blade is pivotally coupled to the anvil and includes a blade cutting edge. A clevis is coupled to the anvil and includes arms extending on opposite sides of an actuator screw. A pivot nut is threadably coupled to the actuator screw and pivotally coupled to the blade. Rotation of the actuator screw in a first rotational direction causes the pivot nut to translate along the actuator screw in a first translation direction, resulting in the blade cutting edge moving away from the anvil cutting edge. Rotation of the actuator screw in a second rotational direction causes the pivot nut to translate along the actuator screw in a second translation direction, resulting in the blade pivoting relative to the anvil to move the blade cutting edge toward the anvil cutting edge.

Shear wrench tool

A shear wrench tool including an electric motor having a motor output shaft, a transmission having a plurality of planetary gear stages and an output section having first and second output sleeves the first output sleeve being configured for mating with a nut and the second output sleeve being configured for mating with a tip of a bolt to be sheared, wherein the electric motor is configured to provide torque via the transmission to the output section for causing the first and second output sleeves to be rotated in opposite directions relative to each other in use, and wherein the electric motor, the transmission and the output section are arranged in an axial sequence one after the other such that the first and second output sleeves circumferentially extend coaxially around the same axis that the motor output shaft and the planetary gear stages rotate about.

Metal Snips

Hand tools which have an ergonomic using a palm handle and finger handle designs which achieve mechanical efficiency and ease of use. The ergonomic handle is compatible with the muscle movements of an operator using a hand tool reducing muscle strain and pain. Optionally, the palm and finger handles can have ergonomically designed cushions. In an embodiment, the finger handle can have a finger set which has a forward finger flange, a tail finger flange and a pinky grip. The ergonomic handle can also use a relief washer system to achieve a smooth low frictional resistance cutting stroke.

Geared hand tool

A hand tool includes a first jaw; a second jaw rotatably coupled to the first jaw, the second jaw including a first set of projections and a first bearing surface, the first bearing surface having a first curvature; and a lever coupled to the first jaw, the lever including a second set of projections and a second bearing surface, the second bearing surface having a second curvature. During a movement of the first and second jaws from a full open position to a full close position, the first and second sets of projections are at least partially engaged to prevent a slippage between the first and second bearing surfaces that are in a rolling contact during the movement of the first and second jaws from the full open position to the full close position.

Shears having two limbs connected at a revolute joint, each limb comprising a handle region at one end and a cutting edge at the other end. One limb is fixed relative to the revolute joint during an opening and closing movement, and one limb is movable. The limbs move between an open position and a closed position while being limited by a stop and, in the closed position, the cutting edges pass each other over substantially their entire length. On the handle side of the revolute joint, one limb extends relative to the other limb such that it is supported in a planar manner on both sides in a region of overlap with the other limb, wherein the limbs comprise surface regions which, in the closed position, rest against one another in the region in which they are on top of each other and are each exposed on the opposite side.

A light-weight bolt cutter tool includes a pair of opposing pivotally mounted jaws, each made from a fiber-reinforced composite body jacketed by a blade having a hardened metal outer surface oriented to forcibly engage the other one of said jaws. Each jaw can have pair of indentations proving the jaw with an I-beam-type cross-sectional shape. The bolt cutter tool can be actuated by a pair of elongated, hollow fiber resin composite handles. Each handle can include an elastomeric damping plug to prevent debris entering the hollow handle and reduce material fatigue. A quick-deployment, quiver-style backpack can conveniently carry the colt cutters when not in use.
