A sidewall is connected to the tang bottom and front walls with a shearing edge between the side and bottom walls. A side plate with an indexing hub is seated on the guide side tang face, the top seat and the rear seat.

Tool head

A tool head includes a first frame having first and second arms extending from a base to a distal end. The tool head may also include a first blade in the frame between the first and second arms. The first blade is movable from the base toward the distal end. The tool head includes a second frame hingedly coupled to the first arm. The second frame may include a second blade. The second frame is configured to rotate between a closed-frame position and an open-frame position. The tool head includes a trip lever hingedly coupled to the first arm and configured to rotate between an open-lever position and a closed-lever position.

Embodiments of the invention provide a die retainer for use in a tool. The die retainer can include a ram head, a release button, and a die pin. The ram head includes a die cavity and a pair of lateral sides on opposing sides of the die cavity. The release button can extend through a release button hole formed in the ram head hand include opposing ends that extend past each of the corresponding pair of lateral sides. The die pin extends through a die pin cavity that intersects the release button hole. The die release button can be actuatable from either of the opposing ends to retract the die pin from the die cavity.

Four-sided shimable indexable shear tip boot

A one piece four-sided hardened steel boot tip is mounted to a distal end upper jaw tang of a heavy duty demolition. The boot tip has a front wall seated on the tang front edge and a right side wall seated on the shear side tang face and radiused or curved rear seat. A top wall has a radiused inside top wall that sits on the radiused tang top seat. A bottom wall of the boot tip has a radiused inside top wall that is seated on the tang radiused bottom seat forming a shear punching edge between the front wall and the bottom wall. The boot tip has a shear side shearing edge that is between the sidewall and the bottom wall of the boot tip. An access or side plate is seated on the guide side tang face, a portion of the radiused boot bottom wall and the radiused rear seat. The side plate is flush with the bottom and front walls. The boot tip right side and access plate have matching apertures therethrough and alignable with the tang apertures to secure the boot and access plate to the tang for encapsulating protection thereof from the lower jaw shear side, the guide side and the tie plate as the upper jaw moves into and out of the recess therebetween. One or more shims may be provided that are insertable inside the boot against the tang faces and clampable thereto after the faces have become worn or otherwise requires adjustment for maximum clamping force.

STRUT SHEARING TOOL AND DIES THEREFOR
20240342812 · 2024-10-17 ·

A shearing tool for shearing a strut channel includes a housing, a drive casing coupled to the housing, an output movable along a longitudinal axis relative to the drive casing between an extended position and a retracted position, and a die. The die includes a front face, a rear face opposite the front face, and a cutout extending through the front and rear faces, the cutout configured to receive the strut channel therethrough. A die retaining mechanism is movable between a locked configuration, in which the die retaining mechanism couples the die to the output for movement therewith between the extended position and the retracted position, and an unlocked configuration, in which the die is removable from the drive casing. The die retaining mechanism is movable from the locked configuration to the unlocked configuration without the use of tools.

Cutter

A hydraulic tool cutting dies including first and second cutting dies. The first cutting die has a first mounting section and a first cutting edge. The first mounting section is sized and shaped to removably attached to a hydraulic tool. The second cutting die has a second mounting section and a second cutting edge. The second mounting section is sized and shaped to removably attached to the hydraulic tool. The first cutting die includes a post extending past the first cutting edge and the second cutting die includes a post receiving area which has a different cross-sectional shape than the post.

DEVICE FOR CHANGING A BLADE ON SHEARS, IN PARTICULAR FOR A ROLLED BAND, AND SHEARS WITH AT LEAST ONE REPLACEABLE BLADE

A device for changing a blade on shears, in particular for a rolled band, and to such shears in which a blade can be fixed to at least one blade support automatically by a tie bar pretensioned by a force accumulator. The device includes at least one adjusting element which can be actuated in order to release the blade from the blade support such that the tie rod is moved in an axial direction against the tie rod pretension. The adjusting element can be arranged on an outer face of the blade support or outside of the blade support.

MACHINE FOR CRUSHING AND SHEARING METAL CASTING DEBRIS
20180071841 · 2018-03-15 ·

A machine that applies both cutting and shearing action to casting-type metal debris and scrap (hereafter debris), and thus efficiently reduces both brittle and ductile metals to a useful size. The machine comprises a fixed anvil and a reciprocating jaw, the anvil defining an array of spaced anvil plates and the jaw defining a complementary array of spaced jaw V-shaped jaw bars whose upper and lower legs or lobes are alternately reciprocated in an arc into and out the anvil plate array.
