The first member has a shearing surface forming a substantially right angle with a first lateral surface of the first member. The second member has a shearing surface forming a substantially right angle with a second lateral surface of the second member. The second member includes a first distal surface and a second distal surface forming a substantially right angle. The first distal surface and the second distal surface are substantially perpendicular to the second lateral surface. The second member includes a third lateral surface opposing the second lateral surface and a retainer is attached to the second member. A first surface of the retainer contacts the first distal surface, a second surface of the retainer contacts the second distal surface, and the third lateral surface contacts a third surface of the retainer.

INDEXABLE PIERCING TIP FOR DEMOLITION SHEARS

An indexable piercing tip mounts to a nose portion of one of the jaws of a heavy-duty demolition shears so as to enclose and protect top, bottom, front, and two opposing side surfaces of the nose portion during use of the shears. The piercing tip has a first operative position in which a first set of piercing and shearing edges of the piercing tip are presented for use. When the first set gets dull or worn, the piercing tip can be rotated/indexed 180° degrees so as to present a second set of piercing and shearing edges of the piercing tip for use.

METAL CLAD CABLE CUTTING MACHINE

A machine forms a whip from a length of cable. The machine includes a clamping assembly, a notching assembly, and a cutting assembly. The clamping assembly includes a pad which can be move into and out of a cable travel space. The notching assembly includes a notching saw which cuts an outer jacket of the cable in a direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis. Movement of the pad also causes movement of the notching saw to move into the cable travel space or into a raised position. The cutting assembly includes a cutting tool which transversely cuts the conductors of the cable.

A power tool according to the present invention includes a cutting unit that performs a cutting action, and a cutting action input unit for turning the cutting action on and off. The cutting action input unit, when turned on, causes the cutting unit to move in a direction of an end position of the cutting action, and when turned off, causes the cutting unit to stop moving in a case where the cutting action has not ended at a time when the cutting action input unit is turned off, and to move in a direction of a standby position prior to a start of the cutting action in a case where the cutting action has ended at the time when the cutting action input unit is turned off.

An example cutting head for a hydraulic power tool may include a first jaw that includes a first ear configured with a slot for receiving a corresponding ear. The second jaw includes a second ear with a third ear bore that aligns in between a first ear bore and to a second ear bore of the first ear when the second ear is coupled in the slot of the first ear. The cutting head further includes a spring-biased flange coupled to a blade mounted to the first jaw and a retained coupled at a fixed position to a blade mounted to the second jaw. The retainer is configured to receive the flange during a cutting action such that the flange prevents the blades from shifting out of alignment during the cutting action.
