IRIS-TYPE SEGMENTING MECHANISM

A segmenting mechanism includes outer and inner frame members that define a sliding space and an aperture extending therethrough. A first set of sliding blades operates linearly and proximate the aperture. A second set of sliding blades is positioned in an alternating configuration with the first set of sliding blades and also operates linearly within the sliding space proximate the aperture. Each sliding blade of the first and second sets of sliding blades operates cooperatively and simultaneously along each dedicated linear path from a start position, through a medial position to an end position. The start and end positions are each defined by the sliding blades being outside of the aperture to define respective first and second open states of the aperture. The medial position is defined by the sliding blades being at least partially within the aperture to define a closed state of the aperture.

A power miter saw includes a base assembly including a frame, cavities on a bottom of the frame, two supports at two sides of the frame respectively, and two parallel sliding rods passing through one support; a table assembly including a rotatable table mounted on the frame, a miter arm secured to the rotatable table, and a fence at an edge of the rotatable table and secured to the supports; and a saw blade and motor assembly. The fence includes a central curved top, two platforms at two ends of the central curved top respectively, two shoulders each at a joining portion of the curved top and the adjacent platform, and two aligned grooved members each extending outward from a position proximate the platform. The platforms are at an elevation greater than that of the miter arm.

FOLDABLE MITER SAWS AND FOLDABLE METHOD OF MITER SAW

Foldable miter saws and a folding method of miter saws are disclosed. The foldable miter saws includes a base unit, a worktable, and a cutting unit. The cutting unit includes a support arm pivotally mounted on the worktable, a saw blade, and a driver. The miter saw folding method includes the step of biasing the cutting unit relative to the base unit and the step of rotating the support arm relative to the base unit and the worktable to change the cutting unit from a working position to a folded position, thus reducing the vertical space occupied by the cutting unit and facilitating delivery, storage and package of the foldable miter saws.

Miter Angle Stop

A device for setting the miter angle of a machine tool is disclosed. The device includes a clamping block having at least one slot, and a pivot lever on which the machine tool can be mounted and which is pivotable about a pivot point relative to the clamping block between a minimum and a maximum miter angle. The slot includes at least two stop elements offset relative to one another. A setting mechanism includes a lever element for the selection of a maximum miter angle, where the lever element includes a mating stop element is alignable in such a way corresponding to the rotational alignment of the lever element that the mating stop element is able to strike the respective stop element in accordance with the selected maximum miter angle and by which the pivoting movement of the pivot lever relative to the clamping block can be limited.

ANGLE DIVIDER FOR MITER SAW

An angle divider includes a body portion with a proximate end and a distal end. A distal end pivot point is positioned in the distal end of the body portion. A fixed arm and a removable arm are pivotally mounted to the distal end pivot point. The arms and pivot with respect to the distal end pivot point. An adjustable pivot is mounted for sliding movement within an elongated slot formed in the body portion. Brackets interconnect the arms to the adjustable pivot. Movement of the arms results in movement of the adjustable pivot longitudinally along the body portion. A lock 26 locks the adjustable pivot with respect to the body portion, which locks the arms in place with respect to the body portion. The removable arm can be removed from the distal end pivot point and the adjustable pivot point to split the angle.

Circular saw with a moving mechanism
09649703 · 2017-05-16 · ·

A circular saw with a moving mechanism includes a base, a moving unit and a cutting unit. The base has a worktable which has a front side and an opposite rear side, and defines a first plane which extends substantially horizontally from the rear side toward the front side. The moving unit is disposed above the worktable and includes a supporting frame disposed on the worktable. A first sliding shaft and a second sliding shaft are located parallel to each other and disposed at an interval relative to each other on the supporting frame. A moving member is also disposed on the first and second sliding shafts. A second plane is defined as a plane extending through an axis of the first sliding shaft and an axis of the second sliding shaft. Moreover, an included angle is formed between the first plane and the second plane and ranges from greater than zero degrees to smaller than 90 degrees. The cutting unit is pivotally mounted on the moving member and is linearly movable along the worktable in a horizontal direction.

METAL OR WOOD WORKING EQUIPMENT WITH WORK-PIECE SECURING APPARATUS
20170129127 · 2017-05-11 · ·

A work-piece securing apparatus for metal or wood working equipment, for example a miter saw, involves a support element mounted on the equipment and an elongated work-piece securing element movably supported by the support element. The support element is configured to receive and support the securing element such that the securing element retains mobility while supported on the support element to permit manual manipulation of the securing element to position the work-piece on the equipment and/or to position a work-piece engaging portion of the securing element at a desired contact point on a work-piece when the work-piece is positioned to be worked by a tool of the equipment.

Two-bladed table saw with selective stationary blade
09592563 · 2017-03-14 ·

A table saw having a stationary blade and a parallel moveable blade for straightening uneven dimensional lumber of the type used in cabinetry and other relatively fine woodworking. The table saw has a workpiece support frame with a lateral blade opening allowing the moveable blade to be shifted laterally and adjust the spacing between the blades. Powered feed rollers located above the table are used to clamp and feed a workpiece through the table while preventing kickback. A sacrificial fence including a blade guard recess is associated with the stationary blade, and includes a shutoff switch automatically activated to disable the stationary blade for solo use of the moveable blade.

In a miter saw, a dust relief mechanism is provided in side fence portion of a fence on upper side of a base. The dust relief mechanism comprises a first relief groove portion penetrating in left-right direction at a lower end portion of a contact surface of the side fence portion, and a plurality of second relief groove portions penetrating in front-back direction at the lower end portion of the side fence portion. When pressing a material to be processed against the contact surface of the side fence portion, dust remaining between the side fence portion and the material to be processed can escape into the first and second relief groove portions. In turn, the dust can be prevented from intervening between the base and the material to be processed. Thus, it is not necessary for an operator to remove the dust on the base at each cutting process.
