The security system further includes a controller carried by the housing and operably coupled to the sensor and to the output device. The controller is operable to determine a distance traveled by the item of merchandise from a retail display “home” position based upon a sensor input from the sensor, and to activate the output device based upon the distance traveled by the item of merchandise exceeding a threshold distance. The controller may utilize the at least one sensor in conjunction with an inertial navigation system (INS) and motion processing algorithms or techniques to determine the distance traveled by the item of merchandise from the retail display “home” position.

Quick release sensor for merchandise display

A sensor for a merchandise display security system for displaying and protecting an article of merchandise is provided. The security system includes a merchandise bracket configured to be secured to the article of merchandise and a sensor configured to releasably engage the merchandise bracket and to detect unauthorized removal of the merchandise bracket or the sensor from the article of merchandise. The sensor is configured to be releasably engaged with the merchandise bracket such that the sensor is removable from the merchandise bracket while the merchandise bracket remains secured to the article of merchandise.

KEY AND SECURITY DEVICE

A key for a security device is provided. The key may include an electronic component configured to communicate with one or more security devices to initially receive one or more codes associated with each of the security devices. The key may also include a memory configured to store the one or more codes associated with the one or more security devices. The electronic component is configured to communicate with each of the one or more security devices for arming and/or disarming the security devices upon a matching of the code stored by the memory with the code associated with the security device.

MONITORING DEVICE, MONITORING SYSTEM, AND MONITORING METHOD

A monitoring device includes a fixed area setter that sets an area of a part of a display shelf to be monitored as a fixed area, based on a captured image of the display shelf in a store, a shelf detector that detects the display shelf, by determining a similarity between an image of the fixed area set by the fixed area setter and an image at the same position as the fixed area, from the captured image of the store, and an alert notifier that notifies a user that the display shelf to be monitored is not detected, when it is determined that there is no similarity.

Anti-sweep devices which are operable to contain a plurality of packages disposed on a base within a cover or housing, and dispense packages one at a time. A door for accessing a product such as a package is disposed at a front portion of the device. The base includes a pusher axially aligned with the long axis of the base. A sled, lift plate, product retention tab, a sled biasing element and a means for retarding a biasing force imparted by the sled biasing element are positioned below the base. The sled is slidably oriented along the longitudinal axis of the base and has a door contacting end and sled biasing element couple to the opposite end. The sled is engageable to the means for retarding a biasing force imparted by the sled biasing element. In use, opening the door to remove a product or package pushes the sled against the resistance of the sled biasing element, compressing it, and the lift plate and product retention tab are urged upward via the lift plate and through an aperture formed in the base to stop the next product or package from advancing toward the door.
