A power tool including a housing having a handle configured to be grasped by a user, a motor supported by the housing, a driving gear rotated by the motor, and a driven gear engaging the driving gear to be rotated by the driving gear about a rotation axis. The power tool also includes a pin extending from the driven gear and offset from the rotation axis and a spindle having a yoke coupled to the pin to translate rotation of the driven gear into reciprocating motion of the spindle. A notch is formed in an outer periphery of the yoke to provide clearance for the driving gear as the spindle is driven by the pin.

A pole saw apparatus includes a saw blade, a pole, and a tubular adapter connecting the saw blade to the pole. The adapter includes an obround blade-receiving end that stably telescopingly engage sides of the blade-receiving end, with bolts fixing the blade on the adapter. The adapter also includes a pole-engaging end that is cylindrically shaped to telescopingly engage the anchoring end of the pole. A friction clamp includes a transverse shaft extending through the pole, the shaft being shaped to slide into longitudinal slots in the pole-engaging end of the adapter and then rotate into circumferential slots where it is not longitudinally removable. A rotatable cam handle on the clamp is manipulated to create circumferential friction to hold (or release) the adapter on the pole. The blade, adapter and pole align along a common centerline for robust and balanced use.

A foldable saw includes, on a saw handle body, a latch body made of spring wire and including a coil section, a stop pin section, a latch section, and an operation section. The saw handle body includes at least a seating recess, a pin hole, and a receiving groove. The latch body is configured, in the state of being attached to the saw handle body, such that the latch section located in front of the coil section enters into the receiving groove by spring bias, and that the latch section retreats against the spring bias in response to an operation of the operation section located in the rear of the coil section.

Extendable saw

The present invention relates to an extendable folding saw that is lightweight and compact when retracted yet rigid when extended. In one embodiment, the extendable folding saw can have a folding saw and a removably attached extension. The folding saw can have a grip and a pivotally attached saw. The extension can comprise several members that are compactable to a length not much greater than the length of the longest individual member. The members of the extension can have a generally I shaped profile. The extension rod can be attached to the folding saw in a snap-fitting manner for use. A retracted folding saw can be snapped side-by-side to a retracted to extension rod for storage.
