SUBSTRATE PLATE PREPARATION FOR USE IN ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING IN CUT-MACHINING AND GRINDING ENVIRONMENT
20190283161 · 2019-09-19 · ·

A system for removing one or more three-dimensional workpieces manufactured in additive manufacturing environment from a substrate plate is disclosed. The system includes an adjustable support tooling apparatus, a grinder, a cut-machining device, a work tank, a wire discharge machine and coolant pump filtration system. The adjustable support tooling apparatus is supporting a three-dimensional workpiece while it is being detached from a substrate plate by cutting device. The adjustable support apparatus of the present disclosure is also easily adaptable to various weights and geometric of workpiece. The improved substrate plate preparation machine in additive manufacturing enables to complete a job at one place, wherein the job is cutting the work piece and grinding the uneven cut surface of the substrate plate, thereby the ground substrate plate can be reused.

CUTTING ASSEMBLY

A cutting assembly for cutting a workpiece includes a frame, a fixture, and a saw. The fixture is coupled to the frame, and is configured to receive the workpiece. The saw has a cutter to cut the workpiece. The saw is pivotally coupled to the frame. The cutting assembly further includes a locking assembly for locking the workpiece within the fixture. The locking assembly includes a lock structure pivotally coupled to the fixture. The lock structure is configured to lock the workpiece within the fixture. The locking assembly further includes a telescopic structure coupled to the saw and the lock structure. The telescopic structure is configured to move the lock structure in response to a pivotal movement of the saw. The telescopic structure facilitates a locking, by the lock structure, of the workpiece within the fixture.

Double-saw band saw machine and a method for using the same

A double-saw band saw machine includes a base, a first band saw unit, a second band saw unit, a feeding unit and a clamp unit. When an object to be sawn is located in a sawing area between the first and second band saw units, the first and second motors control the first and second frames to move toward each other along the first axial direction, so that the first and second band saw blades can be used to cut the object to be sawn simultaneously. Hence, the sawing efficiency of the double-saw band saw machine is improved, and the replacement interval for the first and second band saw blades is extended.

Bandsaw operative to make simultaneous spaced-apart cuts with a single blade
12447541 · 2025-10-21 ·

A bandsaw makes simultaneous, spaced-apart cuts in hard or soft materials with a single bandsaw blade. The invention is ideally suited to cutting spaced-apart parallel surfaces to form support blocks, however, different embodiment may be controlled or programmed to make parallel or non-parallel cuts at varying angles. The single bandsaw blade rides on circular wheels on both sides of a gap or passageway, such that a first portion of the blade crosses the passage along a first, upper path, and a second portion of the bandsaw blade crosses the passage along a second, lower path. A table moves the material through the passage, whereupon the material is simultaneously cut along two planes corresponding to the upper and lower paths of the bandsaw blade. A preferred embodiment includes a first set of upper and lower wheels on one side of the passage, and a second set of upper and lower wheels on an opposing side of the passage.
