Provided are a porous media bearing for a band saw, a band saw for cutting cant and a method of cutting cant using the band saw. The band saw has a continuous loop blade supported by a drive wheel and first and second support arms having porous media bearings. A location of a blade cutting section, an angle of the blade in relation to the cant being cut, and tension on the blade can be adjusted by moving the first and second support arms.

Process systems and methods for cutting true with a bandsaw
10369643 · 2019-08-06 ·

Systems and methods for improved bandsaw process control and throughput, in which a sawblade of a bandsaw contacts a bottom sawguide mounted in a bottom guide holder, the bottom guide holder frame having a flexural member that transmits forces on the sawguide to a force transducer associated with the flexural member. Workpiece-related forces include deflection forces, both lateral and torsional, and saw resistance forces on the bottom sawguide. An object of the invention is to establish a true cut condition when pre-straining the sawblade and a process control loop whereby the true cut condition is restored in near real time while cutting a workpiece. The combination of a force sensing guide holder and a process control loop synergically improves target lumber size control and maximizes log value, while also increasing throughput by reducing both overfeed and underfeed.

Convex curve cutter
10343228 · 2019-07-09 ·

A portable bandsaw attachment for cutting symmetrical or asymmetrical convex curved sides into a multisided three dimensional workpiece comprising a rotating table that supports the workpiece, a stationary base that supports the rotating table and provides an attachment point for the rotating table, laterally movable guides and backstop arrangement attached to the rotating table for locating and securing the workpiece relative to the bandsaw blade. The attachment can include handles to grip and turn the rotating table, an opening in the stationary base to provide clearance for the bandsaw blade, and means for securely mounting the stationary base to the bandsaw table.

STRUCTURE BODY CUTTING SYSTEM, STRUCTURE BODY CUTTING METHOD, AND CUTTER SYSTEM

A structure body cutting system includes a cutter system mounted on a cutting side trailer and configured to cut a blade to be cut, and a feeder system mounted on a feeding side trailer and configured to send out the blade to the cutter system. The blade is placed so as to straddle between the cutter system and the feeder system. The feeder system sends out the blade to the cutter system as the feeding side trailer comes close to the cutting side trailer. The cutter system cuts the blade into a plurality of cut segments by cutting the blade sent out from the feeder system.

Cutting assembly

A cutting assembly for cutting a workpiece includes a frame, a fixture, and a saw. The fixture is coupled to the frame, and is configured to receive the workpiece. The saw has a cutter to cut the workpiece. The saw is pivotally coupled to the frame. The cutting assembly further includes a locking assembly for locking the workpiece within the fixture. The locking assembly includes a lock structure pivotally coupled to the fixture. The lock structure is configured to lock the workpiece within the fixture. The locking assembly further includes a telescopic structure coupled to the saw and the lock structure. The telescopic structure is configured to move the lock structure in response to a pivotal movement of the saw. The telescopic structure facilitates a locking, by the lock structure, of the workpiece within the fixture.

A sawmill feedspeed control system having a force sensor operatively coupled to a sawguide of a sawblade, the output of the force sensor being processed and supplied to a motion controller and driver for reducing or increasing feed velocity of a workpiece so as to prevent overfeed or underfeed, while minimizing deviations of the blade from a straight cut and maximizing production throughput.

FOOD-CUTTING APPARATUS
20240246160 · 2024-07-25 ·

A food-cutting apparatus has a base; a trolley for placing a food object; a cutting device having two saw wheels, a power source, and a saw belt that is wound around the two saw wheels as a loop. The power source drives the two saw wheels to rotate and further drives the saw belt to circle. The trolley moves the food object so that the food object is cut by the saw belt. The saw belt has teeth oppositely at its two edges. The detector monitors intactness of the teeth and generates a warning signal when determining that any of the teeth is worn. The controlling device cuts off the power source and slows down the trolley when receiving the warning signal.

BAND SAW MACHINE

A band saw machine includes a base having a cutting fluid reservoir, a saw blade housing movable in an up-down direction, a pair of saw blade wheels around which a band saw blade are wound, a downstream main vise having a pair of downstream main vise jaws for clamping a product correspondent portion of the workpiece, a discharge table for discharging a product to an outside of the cutting fluid reservoir, and a product feed mechanism that feed the product cut out from the workpiece to a side on an upstream end of the discharge table.

A working-side running area of the band saw blade and a working-opposite-side running area of the band saw blade are positioned within the cutting fluid reservoir, and the upstream end of the discharge table is positioned on a downstream side from a wheel center line connecting centers of the pair of saw blade wheels.
