The device may be in the form of a tension gauge that includes a first plate associated with a moveable protrusion such as a pin that deflects the blade and a second plate that is pivotably attached to the first plate and includes two or more fixed pins.

Sawmill

A sawmill comprising first and second clamp members for clampingly engaging opposite sides of a log or log cant. A trolley includes the second clamp member. For moving the trolley cross-wise of the sawmill base, a threaded rotatable rod, to which a handle is attached, extends cross-wise of the base. The trolley includes a pair of walls which have a pair of aligned vertically oblong apertures respectively for receiving the rod. A half nut is fixedly attached to a bottom of one of the apertures and has threads which mate with threads on the rod so that the rod can threadedly engage the half nut. The apertures are sized such that the trolley can be tilted so that the threads of the rod and the half nut can be disengaged and the trolley slid along the rod to an approximate position for clampingly engaging the second clamp member to the log or log cant, then, with the trolley positioned upright and the threads of the rod and the half nut re-engaged, the handle can be turned to apply clamping force by the second clamp member to the log or log cant.

FOOD-CUTTING APPARATUS

A food-cutting apparatus has a base; a trolley for placing a food object; a cutting device having two saw wheels, a power source, and a saw belt that is wound around the two saw wheels as a loop. The power source drives the two saw wheels to rotate and further drives the saw belt to circle. The trolley moves the food object so that the food object is cut by the saw belt. The saw belt has teeth oppositely at its two edges. The detector monitors intactness of the teeth and generates a warning signal when determining that any of the teeth is worn. The controlling device cuts off the power source and slows down the trolley when receiving the warning signal.

BAND SAW MACHINE

A band saw machine includes a base having a cutting fluid reservoir, a saw blade housing movable in an up-down direction, a pair of saw blade wheels around which a band saw blade are wound, a downstream main vise having a pair of downstream main vise jaws for clamping a product correspondent portion of the workpiece, a discharge table for discharging a product to an outside of the cutting fluid reservoir, and a product feed mechanism that feed the product cut out from the workpiece to a side on an upstream end of the discharge table.

A working-side running area of the band saw blade and a working-opposite-side running area of the band saw blade are positioned within the cutting fluid reservoir, and the upstream end of the discharge table is positioned on a downstream side from a wheel center line connecting centers of the pair of saw blade wheels.

Band saw machine with starting cutting position control and control method thereof

A band saw machine includes a working platform, a cutting machine, a vertical displacement element causing the cutting machine to move vertically, a height sensor and a central processor. The working platform includes a reference plane for placing a workpiece. The cutting machine includes a driving wheel, a driven wheel, a band saw wound on the driving wheel and the driven wheel, and a motor that electrically drives the driving wheel. The band saw includes a starting cutting tooth and a processing cutting tooth sequentially arranged. The height sensor detects a starting cutting point of the workpiece farthest from the reference plane. The central processor receives information of a position of the starting cutting point, and controls a displacement speed of the vertical displacement element and a first rotational speed of the motor to cause the starting cutting tooth to first cut at the starting cutting point.

A hand-held band saw includes a band saw body and an supporting device. The supporting device includes a fixing member, a slider, a supporting member, and a connection assembly. The fixing member is fixedly connected to the band saw body, the slider is slidably connected to the fixing member, the supporting member supports a workpiece and is connected to the slider, and the connection assembly connectes the slider and the supporting member. When the slider moves, the connection assembly is capable of enabling the supporting member to move along with the slider. The connection assembly comprises a buffer member mounted between the slider and the supporting member.

RIBBON SAW WITH DOUBLE SECURITY SYSTEM

A ribbon saw with a double security system is provided that includes a cutting ribbon (3), vertically installed between an upper part (1a) and a lower part (1b) with driving mechanism and control electronics. The control electronics include a first artificial vision security system, with a camera (5) and a second magnetic artificial vision security system, with an inductive sensor or metal detector (6) installed on the table (4), in front of the cutting ribbon (3). The security system is connected to one or two braking systems (14,15) based on a disc (14) and a pneumatic clamp (15) that stops the mechanism of pulleys (12a, 12b) of the ribbon (3), when it detects the color and the metallic or ferrous material of the gloves that the operator wears.

Method of cutting with a band saw

A method of cutting a workpiece with a band saw is disclosed herein. The method includes rotating, with a band saw machine, a blade about a central longitudinal axis. The method also includes moving, with the band saw machine, the blade and a workpiece relative to the other to form a cut in the workpiece. The method also includes supporting a back edge of the blade at a first position before a lateral entry position of the cut or a second position after a lateral exit position of the cut with a first back support member. The method also includes extending an extension arm of the first back support member to shift the back edge a first distance rectilinearly along the central longitudinal axis toward the workpiece, wherein the shifting is cumulative to rectilinear movement from the moving.
