A cutting apparatus and the method of operating same is provided. The apparatus includes a feed tower assembly configured to be attached to an object and a frame assembly movably attached thereto. The frame assembly has arm assemblies thereon which accept a cutting member. A liquid spray system is provided for cooling components of the cutting apparatus.

In a second aspect, a worktable includes a housing coupled to a vacuum source configured to provide a plurality of negative pressure regions beneath the worktable. In another aspect, data is received which includes a first portion corresponding to a negative pressure level of a first region, and a second portion corresponding to a negative pressure level of a second region. A determination is then made of whether either of the negative pressure level falls below a threshold.

The vacuum source provides negative pressure beneath the worktable at the center slot, and the filter collects dust drawn by the negative pressure. In a second aspect, a vacuum motor housed within a filter provides power to a vacuum source. The filter collects dust drawn by a negative pressure created by the vacuum source, and includes pleated media that makes contact with an agitation flap to remove dust via a rotation of the filter. In another aspect, a sensor coupled to a saw apparatus is monitored, and a trigger sensed by the sensor is detected. A communication is then determined in response to a detection of the trigger.

Various aspects to facilitate mobilizing bulk equipment are disclosed. In a first aspect, a saw apparatus includes a vacuum source, a worktable, and a portability mechanism integrated within the saw apparatus in which dimensions associated with the portability mechanism depend on a location of a center of mass of the saw apparatus. The worktable includes a center slot axially aligned to a circular saw blade, and the vacuum source is configured to provide a negative pressure beneath the worktable at the center slot. In a second aspect, a center of mass inquiry is received, which includes data associated with equipment having a non-uniform distribution of mass. The center of mass inquiry is then processed, and a portability mechanism adjustment is sent in response to a processing of the center of mass inquiry.

One arm assembly can further be moved relative to the other arm assembly and relative to the feed tower assembly in a vertical direction.

Generally described, the systems and methods disclosed in herein relate to sectioning an object with a frame-mounted wire saw as the step of a method for recycling fiber composite source objects, such as wind turbine blades. The frame-mounted wire saw generally includes a support frame assembly and a pulley system for directing an abrasive wire from a wire saw. A pair of slidable pulleys directs the abrasive wire through the object as the abrasive wire cuts. In some examples, the frame-mounted wire saw includes a mobility system to allow the assembly to travel along the length of the object and position the frame-mounted wire saw for the cut.
