SAW MOUNT SYSTEM AND METHOD
20170173712 · 2017-06-22 ·

Systems and methods for a table-mounted stand that houses a hand-held masonry cut-off saw. In some embodiments, the stand provides a fixed mount that keeps the saw stationary while the operator is allowed to feed the work piece through the saw with both hands. In some embodiments, the stand is configured to mount and un-mount the saw without the need for separate tools or time-consuming restraints. In some embodiments, the stand includes a throttle control that is activated via foot control, which allows for two-hand manipulation of the work piece being cut by the saw mounted on the stand. In some embodiments, the two-handed work-piece manipulation provided by the stand allows for precise curved and multi-angled cuts. In some embodiments, the stand is made of lightweight construction (e.g., aluminum) for ease of setup and mobilization.

Circular saw

A track saw assembly is provided including a track saw (i.e., a circular saw) having a shoe translatable upon a track. Various mechanisms control plunging of a saw unit and saw blade of the track saw relative to the shoe. For example, a plunge lockout mechanism is provided to prevent engagement of a trigger and prevent movement of a plunge mechanism. Various mechanisms control bevel angle adjustment of the saw unit relative to the shoe. For example, a linkage is provided and is operable to shift between a first position and a second position. In the first position, a bevel angle is restricted within a first bevel angle range. In the second position, the bevel angle is restricted within an expanded second bevel angle range. Other concepts relate to the interface between the shoe and the track and a clamp which secures the track to a workpiece.

A circular saw including a shoe, saw unit, depth scale, and depth stop. The shoe has an upper surface and an opposite, lower surface. The saw unit includes a circular saw blade and is pivotably coupled to the shoe between a first position in which the saw blade does not protrude beyond the lower surface of the shoe, and a second position in which the saw blade protrudes beyond the lower surface of the shoe. The depth scale extends from the upper surface of the shoe. The depth stop includes a stop body, a button, and a spring biasing the button away from the body. The button being movable between a locked position locked to the depth scale, and an unlocked position, movable along the depth scale to a location coinciding with a desired cutting depth. The spring biases the button to the locked position.

A saw support assembly includes a base member defining a receiving channel. The receiving channel of the base member is configured to receive a leg of a saw therein to secure the base member to the leg of the saw. An arm member is pivotably coupled to the base member. The arm member is configured to pivot towards or away from the base member. The arm member is configured to extend from the base member to support the leg of the saw to which the base member is secured. A branch member extends between the base member and the arm member. The branch member defines a first end connected with the base member and a second end connected with the support arm. The branch member is configured to limit a degree to which the arm member can pivot away from the base member.

A man basket having a frame with open front, rear and side walls and a floor that is preferably metal mesh material. The man basket includes two saw platforms extending from the top part of the rear wall and two work surfaces on either side of the saw platforms. The saw platforms optionally include saw stops. A material jig is positioned behind the saw platforms and configured to secure material against the jig when the material is laid across the work surfaces. Two telescoping members extend from the distal ends of the top rail of the rear wall and serve to further support material being worked upon by personnel in the man basket.
