The present invention relates to a multi-material rotary cutting tool (1) and a method for manufacturing such a tool that includes at least one continuous or substantially continuous cutting edge (8, 9) made of at least two different successive materials. The extremity or top (10) of the tool is a point off-centered in relation to the axis of rotation (5) of the tool.
A MACHINE REAMING TOOL, INTERCHANGEABLE HEAD AND SHANK FOR A MACHINE REAMING TOOL
A machine reaming tool includes a shank and an interchangeable head assembled on the shank. The interchangeable head on a side that faces the shank includes at least one head groove and at least one head ridge. The shank on a side that faces the interchangeable head includes at least one shank groove and at least one shank ridge. In the assembled condition, the at least one head groove engages into the at least one shank ridge and the at least one shank groove engages into the at least one head ridge.
Tool for machining a workpiece
A tool for machining a workpiece. The tool comprises a first tool component which comprises a first internal coolant bore and, on a first face side end, a first connection interface, wherein the first connection interface comprises a first end face for attaching a joining material as well as an elevation which protrudes from the first end face, wherein a first coolant outlet of the first internal coolant bore is arranged on the elevation. In addition, the tool comprises a second tool component which comprises a second internal coolant bore and, on a second face side end, a second connection interface, wherein the second connection interface comprises a second end face for attaching the joining material as well as a recess provided in the second end face, wherein a second coolant outlet of the second internal coolant bore is arranged in the recess. The first tool component and the second tool component are joined together by means of the joining material attached to the first and second end face in such a manner that the first coolant outlet is aligned with the second coolant outlet.
REAMER
An insert portion (3) of a reamer (1) is fixed, using screws (8), to a leading end portion of a body (2A). The insert portion (3) is configured by overlaying an insert (4) for finish machining and an insert (5) for rough machining, and forms a right hand cut right hand helix. On respective mating faces of the inserts (4, 5), convex portions and concave portions of the mating face of the insert (4) overlap with concave portions and convex portions of the mating face of the insert (5). The reamer (1) can enlarge a hole formed in a workpiece or change a shape of the hole. The inserts (4, 5) simultaneously cut an inner peripheral face of the hole, and can thus perform rough machining and finish machining in one pass. By overlapping the convex portions and the concave portions of each of the mating faces of the inserts (4, 5), they partially overlap in their respective thickness directions. A protrusion length of the insert portion (3) can thus be shortened.
Reamer
A reamer has a basic tool body made of hard metal (12) and a plate-like cutting insert (18) inserted into a recess (28) at the front. The cutting insert (18) is at least partially made of polycrystalline diamond, its cutting edges (20) situated axially offset relative to the cutting edges (30) on the basic tool body (12), thus engaging with the workpiece later.
REAMER
A reamer has a shank made of steel and a cutting body made of a harder material, wherein the cutting body forms the outer circumference of the reamer in the region of the workpiece side end and has all the cutting ribs.
Reamer
A reamer includes a shank, a washer, a ring and a blade. The shank is a polygonal rod and includes an annular groove made in a periphery and a bore made in an end. The washer includes a slot. The ring includes a circular opening. The blade includes an insert inserted in the bore through the slot and the circular opening. The circular opening is made of a diameter larger than a width of the blade to allow the blade to rotate relative to the ring.
Tool coupling arrangement for drills and reamers
A tool coupling arrangement for drills and reamers includes tool and shank portions with respective tool and shank axial stoppers. An at least partially cylindrical tool coupling end of the tool portion is located within a longitudinal through forward bore portion in the shank portion, and being coupled therein via an elongated coupling member located further inwards in the shank portion and comprising axially opposite member coupling and pulling ends. The forward bore portion has front and rear sub-portions and a bore recess which is located therebetween and extends radially outwardly. In a locked position, the tool axial stopper abuts the shank axial stopper. The tool coupling end abuts the front and rear sub-portions. And the member coupling end is wedged between the tool coupling end and the bore recess.
TOOL FOR MACHINING A WORKPIECE
A tool for machining a workpiece. The tool comprises a first tool component which comprises a first internal coolant bore and, on a first face side end, a first connection interface, wherein the first connection interface comprises a first end face for attaching a joining material as well as an elevation which protrudes from the first end face, wherein a first coolant outlet of the first internal coolant bore is arranged on the elevation. In addition, the tool comprises a second tool component which comprises a second internal coolant bore and, on a second face side end, a second connection interface, wherein the second connection interface comprises a second end face for attaching the joining material as well as a recess provided in the second end face, wherein a second coolant outlet of the second internal coolant bore is arranged in the recess. The first tool component and the second tool component are joined together by means of the joining material attached to the first and second end face in such a manner that the first coolant outlet is aligned with the second coolant outlet.
CUTTING TOOL HAVING AT LEAST PARTIALLY MOLDED BODY
A cutting tool for performing cutting operations on a workpiece when the cutting tool is rotated about a central axis by a machine tool, the cutting tool includes a generally cylindrical body disposed about the central axis. The generally cylindrical body includes a first end and an opposite second end. The cutting tool further includes a cutting portion and a mounting portion. The cutting portion is disposed at or about the first end of the generally cylindrical body and includes a number of cutting edges structured to engage the workpiece during cutting operations. The mounting portion is disposed at or about the opposite second end of the generally cylindrical body and is structured to be coupled to the machine tool. At least a portion of the generally cylindrical body comprises a molded portion formed via a molding process about the cutting portion in a manner that couples the cutting portion to the generally cylindrical body.
