Reamer
A reamer has a shank made of steel and a cutting body made of a harder material, wherein the cutting body forms the outer circumference of the reamer in the region of the workpiece side end and has all the cutting ribs.
Reamer
An insert portion (3) of a reamer (1) is fixed, using screws (8), to a leading end portion of a body (2A). The insert portion (3) is configured by overlaying an insert (4) for finish machining and an insert (5) for rough machining, and forms a right hand cut right hand helix. On respective mating faces of the inserts (4, 5), convex portions and concave portions of the mating face of the insert (4) overlap with concave portions and convex portions of the mating face of the insert (5). The reamer (1) can enlarge a hole formed in a workpiece or change a shape of the hole. The inserts (4, 5) simultaneously cut an inner peripheral face of the hole, and can thus perform rough machining and finish machining in one pass. By overlapping the convex portions and the concave portions of each of the mating faces of the inserts (4, 5), they partially overlap in their respective thickness directions. A protrusion length of the insert portion (3) can thus be shortened.
MACHINING TOOL
A machining tool for use in machine tools for rotating cutting operations has a main body, which can be rotated about a center axis and which is elongate in the direction of the center axis, at least one cutting element fastened to the main body and at least one chip removal channel, which extends along the main body outside of the center axis and which is bounded inwardly by a core of the main body, through which core the center axis passes. The chip removal channel is outwardly closed at least over a longitudinal section by an outer chip space wall adjoining the core.
MACHINING TOOL
This disclosure relates to a machining tool having a base body which is rotatable about a rotary axis and movable in a feed direction along the rotary axis, at least one cutting element which is fixed on the base body and has a front cutting edge pointing in the feed direction, and a flute associated with the cutting element and formed by a recess in the base body. In order to control the chip flow, according to this disclosure, a flute cover mounted on the base body is proposed, which outwardly covers a chip removal area of the flute adjoining the cutting element.
Reamers with radially extending flutes
In one aspect, reamers having radially extending flutes are described herein. A reamer described herein comprises a cutting portion including a plurality of cutting teeth separated by flutes, the cutting teeth defining an outer diameter of the cutting portion and the flutes extending radially to define an inner diameter of the cutting portion.
REAMER
A reamer has a shank made of steel and a cutting body made of a harder material, wherein the cutting body forms the outer circumference of the reamer in the region of the workpiece side end and has all the cutting ribs.
Reamer with front gash design
A reamer includes a shank portion extending from a rear end and a cutting portion extending from the shank portion to a front end. The cutting portion includes a plurality of cutting teeth separated by gashes. Each cutting tooth having a cutting edge extending in a longitudinal direction from the front end to proximate the shank portion. The cutting portion includes a margin trailing each cutting edge and extends along each cutting edge to proximate the shank portion. Each cutting tooth also has a primary relief formed between the cutting edge and the front end and a secondary relief extending longitudinally between the margin of one cutting tooth to the cutting edge of an adjacent cutting tooth. A width, W, of each cutting tooth increases in a radially outward direction with respect to the central, longitudinal axis when viewed from the front end of the reamer.
