PROGRAMMABLE SMART-SENSING SHELF LINER APPARATUS FOR AUTONOMOUS RETAIL

A smart retail product shelf liner called MOOCA to detect product loads on its surface. The liner preferably has an origami like structure whose properties (e.g., angles, unit size, material) are adjusted to make the liner configurable for different sizes, load ranges, and product packaging. The smart liner is well suited for autonomous checkout systems. MOOCA is an origami-inspired low-cost configurable surface structure having conductive threads and copper wires integrated into the origami structure to detect and recognize product loads and thus to detect when products are either picked-up, or put-down, upon the smart MOOCA liner of the shelf.

A position adjustable support assembly is convertible from a tool case, to a step stool. A segmented position adjustable support assembly has a center assembly and a left and right assembly. The left and right assemblies are rotatable about the center assembly and the vertical supports of the center, left and right assemblies can be retained in base and top-receivers of a tool case. Retainers may secure the segmented assembly to the base and top. The top may convert to a top-step and the base may be utilized as a bottom step of a stepstool. A pair of legs may extend from the re-positioned top cover and these legs may be retained by a top-step retainer assembly that may be coupled to the base; thereby providing stability for the stepstool.

Retractable hinged shelf display

A hinged drawer type shelving apparatus includes a shelf with a first portion and a second portion hinged to the first portion. The first portion is connected between opposing arms that have a guide connected to a rearward portion of the arm. A frame has opposing side members between which the shelf is disposed. Each side member has a channel for directing or guiding movement of the corresponding guide. The shelf moves between a first stored position, where the first and second shelf portions are coplanar with one another, and a second extended position to facilitate restocking of product. In the extended position, the first shelf portion is tilted and non-coplanar with the second shelf portion.
