Method and apparatus for hard finishing modified gears
The present disclosure relates to generating a modified gear flank geometry on an active surface of the workpiece by generation grinding or honing. In at least one example, the modified gear flank geometry of the workpiece may be generated on the active surface of the workpiece by variation of an engagement depth of a tool into the workpiece in dependence on an angle of rotation of the tool. Additionally, the workpiece may comprise a cylindrical spur gear, a helical gear, a spherical gear, or a conical gear. Further, in one or more examples, the modified gear flank geometry of the workpiece includes at least one of a profile waviness or a defined periodic flank waviness.
Rotary machining apparatus and machining method using the same
A rotary machining apparatus that includes a rotary that supports and rotates a workpiece having helical teeth; a grinding wheel that grinds the helical teeth of the workpiece to be rotated by the rotary with grinding teeth; and a conveyor for carrying the workpiece in and out of the rotary, wherein the conveyor includes, around a turning center axis, a plurality of grippers for sandwiching the workpiece and a plurality of dressers for forming toothed surfaces of the grinding teeth, and turns around the turning center axis so that the grippers sequentially approach the rotary and the dressers sequentially approach the grinding wheel, and dress teeth of the dressers each have different shapes of toothed surfaces.

A method for monitoring the machine geometry of at least one gear cutting machine (10), having the following steps: a) measuring a workpiece in a measuring device (20) in order to determine actual data, wherein a workpiece is concerned which was previously machined in the machine (10) on the basis of specification data (VD, ΔVD, MD, ΔMD); b) correlating the actual data with the specification data (VD, ΔVD, MD, ΔMD) in order to thus determine the deviation of a geometric setting of at least one axis of the machine (10); c) storing the deviation of the geometric setting; d) repeating the steps a)-c) after the machining of further workpieces in the machine (10); e) performing a statistical evaluation of several of the stored deviations in order to determine a geometric change in the axis of the machine (10) by considering a predetermined condition and/or rule.
