METHOD OF REPAIRING A REGION OF A PART INCLUDING A THREADED HOLE
Methods of repairing a periphery of a threaded hole of a part are provided. An embodiment of the method includes adding material to a region of the part including on a periphery of the threaded hole. New threads are formed in the added material. The new threads are continuous with existing threads formed in the hole.
ROTARY CUTTER FOR CUTTING DAMAGED THREADS OF A BOLT
A rotary cutter for cutting damaged threads of a bolt includes a body rotatable about a rotating axis. The body includes an inner periphery delimiting a conic cutting space. The body further includes at least one cutting blade, an evasive groove, an evasive portion, a scrap discharge groove, a scrap guide groove and a scrap discharge orifice on the inner periphery delimiting the cutting space. The at least one cutting blade forms a ridge. The evasive groove and the scrap discharge groove are respectively located on a rear side and a front side of the at least one cutting blade along a circumferential direction of the inner periphery of the body. The scrap guide groove extends between the evasive groove and the scrap discharge orifice.
BOTTOMING TAP AND CHASER AND METHOD OF USE
A tap and chaser are provided each having a cylindrical tool receiver connected to a threading section by a shaft. The receiver and shaft are of diameters sufficiently small to enter the bore hole and distribute any off axis load onto a number of internal threads of the bore hole to dissipate loading. The threaded section includes a group of longitudinal flutes. Each of the lands of the threaded section includes a novel cutting face, tooth angle and rake angle to advantageously allow for threading deep blind holes.
THREAD RESTORATION TOOL
A thread restoration tool (10), including: a first (30A) and second (30B) jaw, being horizontally rotatable (72B) one in relation to the other, for gripping the thread (22) in between; at least one knife (20A, 20B), extending from at least one of the first (30A) and second (30B) jaws, for being inserted into the thread (22) by the gripping; a vertical to horizontal convertor (208), for converting vertical motion of a vertically positioned rod (36) to the horizontal rotating of one of the jaws (30A, 30B) in relation to the other, thereby the gripping of the thread (22) is operable via the top (44A) of the rod (36) being disposed above the thread (22), thereby reducing occupied space (220) around the thread (22), required for the gripping.
ROTARY CUTTER FOR CUTTING DAMAGED THREADS OF A BOLT
A rotary cutter for cutting damaged threads of a bolt includes a body rotatable about a rotating axis. The body includes a connecting end and an operative end. The body includes an inner periphery delimiting a cutting space extending along the rotating axis from the operative end towards but spaced from the connecting end. A width of the cutting space in a diametric direction perpendicular to the rotating axis gradually reduces from the operative end toward the connecting end to form a conic space. The body further includes at least one cutting blade and an evasive groove on the inner periphery. The evasive groove includes a first evasive face connected to the at least one cutting blade and extending in a direction parallel to the at least one cutting blade. Thus, portions of the rotary cutter other than the at least one cutting blade does not rub against the bolt.
The body further includes at least one cutting blade disposed on the inner periphery. The at least one cutting blade includes a first cutting blade section and a second cutting blade section. The first cutting blade section is arcuate or rectilinear. The second cutting blade section is arcuate or rectilinear. The first and second cutting blade sections are not identical.
ANCHOR BOLT MACHINING APPARATUS
An anchor bolt machining apparatus including an anchor bolt machining die and a die holder. The anchor bolt machining die includes a first head portion for fixing an anchor bolt and a first body portion receiving a screw machining die and the die holder includes a second head portion coupled to a rotational force supply device, a support portion coupled to the anchor bolt machining die, and a second body portion connecting the second head portion and the support portion.
Rotary cleaning tool
A cleaning tool is disclosed for cleaning an object (e.g., a threaded fastener) and retaining debris from cleaning the object. The cleaning tool can comprise a housing operable to be rotated by hand or by a hand tool, and a cleaning chamber formed through the housing. A plurality of retaining cavities are formed through the housing and in fluid communication with the cleaning chamber, and a plurality of cleaning elements (e.g., shafts having bristles) are supported by respective retaining cavities, such that a portion of the cleaning elements (e.g., wire bristles) extend into the cleaning chamber for cleaning the object upon rotation of the housing relative to the object. Elastic elements can be supported by the housing for biasing the cleaning elements to accommodate cleaning different sizes of objects. Associated systems and methods are provided.
Rotational cutting tool for trimming workpiece
A rotational cutting tool includes a connecting end for engaging with a driving tool and a cutting end for engaging with the work piece. The connecting end and the cutting end rotate about the rotation axis upon rotation of the rotational cutting tool. An inner periphery of the cutting end defines a receiving space for receiving the work piece. The receiving space has a conic surface which extends radially and obliquely with respect to the rotation axis. The receiving space includes a first ridge forming at least one cutting edge for trimming the workpiece and at least one slot allowing trimmed pieces from the workpiece to exit from the receiving space. The first cutting edge extends radially and obliquely with respect to the rotation axis. The first cutting edge extends curvedly and has a curved contour.
Rotary cutter for cutting damaged threads of a bolt
A rotary cutter for cutting damaged threads of a bolt includes a body rotatable about a rotating axis and having a connecting end and an operative end. A first cutting blade is disposed on an inner periphery of the body facing a cutting space extending along the rotating axis from the operative end towards but spaced from the connecting end. The body further includes a virtual projection plane perpendicular to the rotating axis. A first virtual plane passes through the first cutting blade and extends perpendicularly to the virtual projection plane. A virtual circle and a first virtual reference line are located on the virtual projection plane. The first virtual reference line intersects the rotating axis and passes through an intersection of the first virtual plane and the virtual circle. An angle between the first virtual reference line and the first virtual plane is between 5 and 40.
