End underframe for a railway vehicle made out of cold rolled austenitic stainless steel and corresponding production method
An end underframe comprises a headstock assembly and a bolster assembly and is made out of a single material which consists of cold rolled austenitic stainless steel.
METHOD FOR FASTENING A CONTACT ELEMENT IN AN ELECTRICAL COMPONENT, AND ELECTRICAL COMPONENT HAVING A CONTACT ELEMENT
In a method for fastening a contact element (5, 6) in an electrical component (1), a contact element (5, 6) is arranged on a contact surface (3, 4) of a base body (2) of the component (1) and a laser beam (18) is directed onto a region (16, 17) of the contact element (5, 6) in such a way that the base body (2) is not located in the beam direction (24) of the laser beam (18). The contact element (5, 6) is partially melted by the laser beam (18), so that the molten material (7, 8) wets the contact surface (3, 4) and produces fastening of the contact element (5, 6) on the contact surface (3, 4).
SPACE FRAME CENTER UPPER FRAME CONNECTION
A center upper frame connection for a space frame can comprise a pair of outer support beams spaced from each in a width direction, a rearward center support between the outer support beams, and support beam arch. Each outer support beam can have a rearward frame connection boss and a forward center frame nodal connection boss. The rearward center support can have a pair of rearward frame connection bosses oriented at an angle relative to each other, and a pair of side frame connection bosses provided on opposing sides of the rearward center support. The support beam arch can be provided adjacent to the outer support beams and the rearward center support. The rearward center support can be located on a longitudinal centerline of the support beam arch and can be parallel to the outer support beams.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A GOLF CLUB HEAD HAVING A WEIGHT BLOCK
A method for producing a golf club head having a weight block includes providing a club head body formed of a titanium alloy. The club head body includes a surface having a coupling portion. A weight block formed of a tungsten-copper-nickel alloy is provided and includes 1-17 wt % of copper and 6-37 wt % of nickel, with the balance being tungsten. The tungsten-copper-nickel alloy has a specific weight of 12-17 g/cm.sup.3. The weight block is placed into the coupling portion of the club head body, and a welding heat source is applied to abutting portions of the weight block and the coupling portion to proceed with fusion welding, tightly engaging the weight block with the coupling portion of the club head body.
Extraction Pressure Vessel, Method of Manufacture, Method of Use
Devices and methods to extract a desired product from organic matter using supercritical fluid extraction processes are described herein. The extraction vessel generally includes a reaction chamber, a water jacket affixed to the reaction chamber capable of separate pressurization, and a closure mechanism with a gasket, a plug, and a cap ring with ACME threading. The extraction vessel may be sealed by hand closure without a need for additional tools to create a seal able to withstand pressures up to 5,000 psi.
Repair of Aircraft Fan Blade
Systems and methods for repairing hollow fan blades. The hollow fan blade has a concave portion and a convex portion secured together by a joint. An interior cavity of the hollow fan blade is charged with a vacuum. The method includes removing material from a damaged portion of the hollow fan blade and welding the damaged portion such that a temperature of the joint does not exceed a distortion temperature.
Repair of Aircraft Fan Blade
A method is provided for repairing a hollow fan blade that includes a first portion and a second portion secured together by a joint. An interior cavity of the hollow fan blade is under a vacuum. The method includes obtaining a replacement portion having a unitary construction, removing a portion from a cutback region of the hollow fan blade to form a weld foundation, and welding the replacement portion to the weld foundation. The welding is at a temperature at the joint that does not exceed a distortion temperature of the joint.
Hardbanding Method and Apparatus
Various methods of hardbanding an apparatus are described. In one aspect of the invention an improved method of re-applying a hardbanding alloy to worn tool joints of a previously hardbanded drill pipe results in preservation of the metallurgical properties of the drill pipe and preservation of the internal polymer coating that lines the drill pipe. A method for applying hardbanding includes arc welding a consumable metal welding wire to a tool joint having a surface temperature that ranges from about 50 F. to about 170 F. and the arc welding power supply utilizes DC current. The method herein produces a hardbanded tool joint comprising a heat affected zone (HAZ) of a based metal having a Rockwell hardness of 40 Rc or less.

FABRICATION LAYOUT DEVICE & METHOD
Techniques and devices are disclosed for fabrication layout device. The device includes a table with a work surface. The work surface being a continuous surface and configured to support a plurality of railing pieces for fabrication of a railing assembly. The device further includes a beam located above the work surface. The beam is operatively coupled to the table, such that the beam moves relative to the work surface in a first direction. Attached to the beam is an ink dispenser. The ink dispenser is configured to move along the beam in a second direction different from the first direction. The ink dispenser is further configured to dispense ink onto the work surface of the table in the form of a pattern of the railing assembly. Railing pieces are positioned on the pattern so that they can be assembled to one another.
