Method for manufacturing solenoid sleeve
A non-magnetic member, a first magnetic member and a second magnetic member are prepared. The first magnetic member and the second magnetic member are connected to the non-magnetic member. Then, a first bonding portion which bonds the non-magnetic member and the first magnetic member to each other, and a second bonding portion which bonds the non-magnetic member and the second magnetic member to each other are formed. A hot isostatic pressing process is performed to the non-magnetic member, the first magnetic member and the second magnetic member to establish diffusion-bond. Thereafter, the non-magnetic member, the first magnetic member and the second magnetic member are hollowed, and the first bonding portion and the second bonding portion are removed. Thereafter, the non-magnetic member becomes a non-magnetic body, the first magnetic member becomes a first magnetic body, the second magnetic member becomes a second magnetic body and a sleeve is obtained.
Transmission shaft and method and device for the production thereof
A transmission shaft of a countershaft-type manual transmission is constructed from a plurality of hollow shaft portions which are butt press welded to one another, at least two of which hollow shaft portions are provided in each instance with at least one helical toothing of a fixed wheel of a spur gear stage. The hollow shaft portions provided with a helical toothing are connected to the respective adjacent hollow shaft portion in each instance so as to be rotated by a correction angle (Δα) around their center axis in proportion to a deviation (Δx) from their axial target position, wherein the ratio between the correction angle (Δα) and the axial deviation (Δx) corresponds to the pitch (s) of the helical toothing (Δα/Δx=s).
CONTAINER FOR RADIOACTIVE WASTE
A container system for radioactive waste and method for using the same is provided. The system includes a canister configured for holding radioactive waste and a lid system. In one embodiment, the lid system comprises a two-part lid assembly including a confinement lid and a shielded lifting lid. The confinement lid is detachably mounted to the confinement lid. In use, the lifting lid supports the confinement lid for lifting and placement on the canister. The lifting lid further shields operators while the confinement lid is mounted to the canister. Thereafter, the lifting lid is removed and may be reused for confinement lid mountings on other canisters. In one embodiment, the confinement lid is bolted to the canister. The canister may be disposed in a protective overpack for transport and storage.
Work String Tubing Connection Restoration
A hardfacing metal composition and method of restoring worn work string tubing by application of a hardfacing metal to the worn regions of the work string tubing.
Fittings for orbitally welded fusion bonds
Embodiments are directed to methods, systems, and apparatuses, for providing fittings capable of being orbitally welded. A system may include measuring components configured to measure a tubing thickness and measure a fitting thickness. The system may also include a processor configured to determine a difference in thickness between the measured tubing thickness and the measured fitting thickness and, based on the determined difference in thickness, determine an amount of fitting that is to be removed to reach a set, specified thickness that allows the fitting to be orbitally welded. The system may also include a facing tool configured to bevel and shape an end portion of the fitting according to the determined amount of fitting that is to be removed to reach the specified thickness and may include an orbital welder configured to orbitally weld the beveled end of the fitting to the tubing in a fusion socket weld.
Method for Producing Welded Connections Between Inner Tubes and Tube Support Plates of a Tube Bundle for a Product-To-Product Shell-And-Tube Heat Exchanger by Means of an Auxiliary Device, and Auxiliary Device for a Production Method of This Type
Producing welded connections between inner tubes and tube support plates of a tube bundle for a product-to-product shell-and-tube heat exchanger by means of an auxiliary device is described. A production method includes pressing the end face of a tube support plate against the end face of the inner tubes in the direction of the inner tube longitudinal axes during welding operations with a first form fit, which is effective both radially and axially, immovably fixing the number of inner tubes corresponding to the tube layout pattern to each other by a second, detachable form fit of the auxiliary device, making a circumferential round weld orbitally, starting from the plate inner bore and the tube inner bore, in a single pass and continuously from radially inside to radially outside, and detaching and removing the auxiliary device from the welded tube bundle.
Apparatus for arc welding and method of using the same
Disclosed is an apparatus for arc welding, comprising: a torch body comprising a power supply line and a gas supply line; two or more metal segments movable relative to one another being sized and shaped to surround a seam between two elongated objects to be welded together, the two or more metal segments being in electrical communication with the power supply line; and a gas jacket attached to each of the metal segments.
Radially outward orbital welding technique as a joining method used for inner tube to fitting connections in double wall tube configurations
A process of welding fittings to ends of a double wall pipe comprising forming a first welded joint between an inner pipe and an inner receiver of a first fitting; forming a second welded joint between an outer pipe and an outer receiver of the first fitting; forming a third welded joint between the outer pipe and an outer receiver of a second fitting; and forming a fourth welded joint between the inner pipe and an inner receiver of the second fitting.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR WIRE ARC ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
A system, a non-transitory computer readable medium for executing instructions, and a method for fabricating a subsea connector, including selecting a substrate on which to form the subsea connector, positioning the substrate on a welding positioner base, and applying a first weld bead using a first multiple axis robot, applying a second weld bead using a second multiple axis robot, forming a plurality of weld bead layers comprising the first weld bead and the second weld bead, and forming a subsea connector formed from the plurality of weld bead layers.
Method of manufacturing golf club head with polymer coated face
Methods of applying a polymeric coating to a rear face surface of golf club heads with variable face thickness are disclosed herein. The coating, which preferably comprises polyurea, improves the durability of the face and reduces the hits to failure ratio of the golf club head. The coating improves the performance of the golf club head because it allows for reduction in overall face thickness and easy post-process manipulation to allow for fine-tuning of mass properties after production. The reduction in thickness leads to overall weight reduction, because the polymer is roughly a quarter of the density of titanium or stainless steel, and also reinforces the face, thereby increasing the lifespan of the club.
