TETHERED COLLABORATIVE ROBOT WITH SMART TORCH
A torch for use by a robot. The torch has a body that can be connected to an arm of the robot. A first actuator on the body can be activated by a user to initiate a recording cycle at a starting point of a desired welding or cutting path and to terminate the recording cycle at an ending point of the path. A second actuator on the body can be activated by the user to indicate way points from the starting point to the ending point as the user moves the torch along the path. The first actuator sends first information to a robot controller, operatively connected to and located remotely from the robot, to initiate and to terminate the recording cycle at the controller. The second actuator device sends the way points as second information to the controller to be recorded at the controller during the recording cycle.
Apparatus and method for object tracking in welding process
According to an embodiment, an object tracking device in a welding process tracks and outputs a predetermined object in a welding image. The object tracking device comprises a camera device capturing the welding image including a base material and a welding torch for welding the base material, a controller receiving a plurality of camera control parameter-varied images from the camera device, identifying the predetermined object in the received images, and generating an object tracking image, the plurality of camera control parameter-varied images having varied camera control parameters of the camera device, and an output device outputting the welding image captured by the camera device, the plurality of images received by the controller, or the object tracking image generated by the controller.
Method for measuring overlaps in prepreg materials
An assembly to connect together first and second sheet members. The assembly includes a pressure device that applies pressure to the sheet members while the sheet members are in an overlapping arrangement and positioned on a support platform. A sensing system that includes one or more thin film pressure sensors detects the positions of the leading and trailing edges. A connection device connects the members together in an overlapping arrangement.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS PROVIDING DYNAMIC BEAD SPACING AND WEAVE FILL IN ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
Embodiments of systems and methods of additive manufacturing are disclosed. In one embodiment, a computer control apparatus accesses multiple planned build patterns corresponding to multiple build layers of a three-dimensional (3D) part to be additively manufactured. A metal deposition apparatus deposits metal material to form at least a portion of a build layer of the 3D part. The metal material is deposited as a beaded weave pattern, based on a planned path of a planned build pattern, under control of the computer control apparatus. A weave width, a weave frequency, and a weave dwell of the beaded weave pattern may be dynamically adjusted during deposition of the beaded weave pattern. The adjustments are under control of the computer control apparatus based on the planned build pattern, as a width of the build layer varies along a length dimension of the build layer.
A METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC WELDING OF A STRUCTURAL STEEL ASSEMBLY AND AN AUTOMATIC WELDING SYSTEM FOR WELDING OF A STRUCTURAL STEEL ASSEMBLY
A method for automatic welding of a structural steel assembly includes workpieces such as profiles and/or a sheet material. The method includs using an automated process to receive information from a CAD-CAM program about welds for welding the structural steel assembly, and to post-process the information received from the CAD-CAM program. The information of each single weld received from the CAD-CAM program includes data about e.g a type of a workpiece or of workpieces of the structural steel assembly which bound the weld, a weld type, a position of the respective weld relative to the workpieces of the structural steel assembly that bound the weld, a shape of the weld, a length of the weld, a path of the weld and a width of the weld. The post-processing includes splitting each weld in sections of which the individual welding parameters are predefined.

METHOD FOR JOINING PLATED STEEL PLATES, AND JOINED STRUCTURE
A method for joining a plated steel sheet includes forming a plurality of protrusions, overlapping a first steel sheet, and performing arc welding, by which first and second steel sheets, at least one of which is a plated steel sheet, are arc welded. In the forming, the plurality of protrusions that is substantially perpendicular to an edge portion of the first steel sheet and is positioned along the edge portion is formed in an overlapping surface of the first steel sheet. In the overlapping, the first and second steel sheets are overlapped such that the protrusions protrude in a direction toward an overlapping surface of the second steel sheet. In the performing the arc welding, an arc welding is performed linearly in the edge portion of the first steel sheet or second steel sheet.
PULSE ARC WELDING PROFILE CONTROL METHOD, CONTROL DEVICE, WELDING SYSTEM, WELDING PROGRAM, AND WELDING POWER SUPPLY
A pulse arc welding profile control method, a control device, a welding system, a welding program, and a welding power supply are provided in which, even when a pulse arc welding method is used, protruding change information is extractable at high accuracy without influence from a welding current or an arc voltage having a pulse shape. An electric change amount detected at the time of weaving includes, as a parameter, at least one among a welding current detection signal and an arc voltage detection signal, takes a predetermined period as one period, calculates an average value of the electric change amount in each one period, and extracts, on the basis of the average value, the protruding change information in a groove to follow a welding line.
