The elongated member is a height-adjustable pole connected on top of the tabletop, with the illumination source being placed at the top of the elongated member. A locking mechanism is provided for the elongated member, the elongated member itself being divided into a sleeve connected to the tabletop and a post that slides into and out of the sleeve. One or more hooks and an accessory receptacle may be attached to the elongated member.

The shoe rack for the present invention may have a plurality of the shoe racks arranged on a wall in any known pattern or design.
