Reusable, gas permeable purge system for welding applications
A purge system useful in welding applications to provide a shielding or purging gas to a weld site, preferably of a tube, pipe or construction, while also providing controlled release of an exhaust gas and pressure relief through the use of a permeable body. The purge system is also flame resistant allowing use in close proximity to the weld site. The design facilitates ease of insertion, holding and retraction in a tube, pipe or other construction.
METHOD, DEVICE AND COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR DETERMINING THE PERFORMANCE OF A WELDING METHOD VIA DIGITAL PROCESSING OF AN IMAGE OF THE WELDED WORKPIECE
The invention relates to a method for determining the performance of a welding method carried out on a metal workpiece, in particular an electric arc welding or laser welding method, with the following steps: introducing one or more extracts of the initial image each having at least one presumed projection, as input to at least one neural network, in particular a convolutional neural network, so as to classify the presumed projections as confirmed or unconfirmed projections, carrying out a second digital processing operation on the initial image comprising the previously classified projections so as to determine at least one parameter representative of the quantity of confirmed projections chosen from the surface of one or more projections.
Welding torch with upper and lower shielding gas flow and welding method using welding torch for horizontal welding
A welding torch (1) includes a cylindrical nozzle (2) in which shielding gas is flown from an opening (3b), and an electrode (4) that is a bar-shaped body projecting from the opening (3b). The shielding gas includes upper shielding gas flowing in an upper region (3u) on an upper side of a central axis (C2) of the electrode (4), and lower shielding gas flowing in a lower region (3d) on a lower side of the central axis (C2) of the electrode (4). Atmospheric pressure of the lower shielding gas is higher than atmospheric pressure of the upper shielding gas. A method of horizontal welding with this kind of welding torch is also defined.
METHOD FOR REWORKING A FAULTY WELDED JOINT OF A HAIRPIN WINDING
A method for reworking a defective welded connection of a hairpin winding for a rotor or stator of an electrical machine, including providing the hairpin winding applied to a winding support. The hairpin winding has at least one conductor formed from multiple conductor sections. The conductor sections of the respective conductor are welded in pairs at a respective welded connection by a first welding method, and at least one of the welded connections is a defective welded connection. The defective welded connection is severed, and the conductor sections to be welded, which were previously connected by the defective welded connection, are connected by way of a connecting method that differs from the first welding method.

SYSTEMS FOR SIMULATING JOINING OPERATIONS USING MOBILE DEVICES
Systems are disclosed relating to a mobile device mounted to a welding helmet such that a wearer of the welding helmet can see a display of the mobile device when wearing the welding helmet. In some examples, the mobile device is mounted such that a camera of the mobile device is unobscured and positioned at approximately eye level, facing the same way the wearer's eyes are facing. In some examples, the simulated training environment may be presented to the user via the display screen of the mobile device, using images captured by the camera of the mobile device, when the mobile device is so mounted to the welding helmet.
System and method for controlling and coordinating welding-type processes and gouging-type processes
A multi-operational welding-type system including a user interface supported by a support structure and including a first user interface device moveable between a welding position, a gouging position, and an off position, and a second user interface device configured to alter operation parameters of the multi-operational welding-type system. A controller is supported by the support structure and monitors the position of the first user interface device and utilizes the operational parameters supplied via the second user interface device. The multi-operational welding-type system may perform only one of a gouging-type process and a welding-type process at a given time depending on the position of the first user interface device.
