METHOD AND DEVICE FOR JOINING ELEMENTS TO COMPONENTS
A method for joining by welding a weld stud to a workpiece, with the following steps: providing a drawn arc welding device and a plasma gas cleaning device; providing a weld stud and providing a workpiece including a joining surface; cleaning the joining surface using a plasma gas cleaning method including the cleaning steps of: generating in the plasma gas generating device a non-transferred arc, generating with the non-transferred arc a plasma from a compressed gas, and directing the plasma onto the joining surface to remove contaminants thereon; and then, after the cleaning steps, joining the weld stud to the workpiece by drawn arc welding using the drawn arc welding device including forming of a transferred electric arc between the weld stud and the joining surface.

Stud welding device and stud welding method
A device and method for welding a welding stud to a base material are provided. A welding current is applied to a welding stud between the welding stud and the base material, wherein a material of the welding stud and the base material is partially liquefied. The welding stud is then immersed into the solidifying material of the welding stud or the base material in order to create a bond between the welding stud and the base material.
SHEAR STUD FEEDER FOR A STUD WELDING GUN
A shear stud feeder for a stud welding gun may include a support frame having a first slide rail and a second slide rail longitudinally spaced apart from the first slide rail to form a slot therebetween. The shear stud feeder may also include a magazine removably engaged with the support frame. The magazine may be adapted to support a plurality of shear studs by the head of each shear stud in a manner in which the body of each shear stud hangs below a bottom of the magazine and wherein the magazine is adapted to dispense the plurality of shear studs to the slot. The shear stud feeder may include a feed mechanism disposed adjacent to either the first slide rail or the second slide rail and a gate assembly adjacent to a front end of each of the first slide rail and the second slide rail.

Brazed ground terminal for non-ferrous vehicle components
A method of manufacturing a grounding connection is disclosed that comprises assembling a non-ferrous grounding connector to a non-ferrous part, and melting brazing material between the grounding connector and the part to secure the grounding connector to the part. The step of assembling the connector to the part may be performed by clinching the connector to the part. The ground connector may comprise a nut secured to the vehicle body by a clinch joint and a deposit of braze metal applied to the nut at the location of the clinch joint. Alternatively, the ground connector for a vehicle body may comprise a nut defining an opening for receiving a fastener and a deposit of brazing material attaching the nut to the vehicle body.

LOADING PIN FOR A JOINING DEVICE, JOINING DEVICE AND JOINING ELEMENT FEED METHOD
A loading pin, for a joining device, having a first axial end portion connectable to an axial drive, and having a second axial end portion which is realized for the purpose of exerting an axial force onto a joining element in order to push the joining element into a holding device and/or in order to support the joining element axially during a joining process, wherein the loading pin comprises an axial hollow channel portion through which a joining element is guidable in an axial feed direction. The loading pin partially defines a lateral joining element feed opening, via which a joining element is feedable into the hollow channel portion.
PROTECTIVE GAS MOUTHPIECE, CONNECTION DEVICE AND CONNECTION METHOD
Protective gas mouthpiece for a connection device, having a base member which has an axial opening and a mouth arranged around the opening and which can be placed on a workpiece on which a connection process is intended to be carried out, wherein the opening adjacent to the mouth defines a cleaning space into which protective gas can be introduced and which, when the connection process is carried out, can be axially delimited by the workpiece which covers the opening. The protective gas is introduced into the cleaning space in such a manner that a main flow direction of the protective gas in a radial centre of the cleaning space is orientated in a substantially radial and unidirectional manner.
