WELDING GUN WITH A DISPLACEMENT MEASURING SYSTEM
Handheld welding gun for welding an element to a component comprising a linear actuator unit with a linear actuator housing and a linear actuator rod adapted to actuate the holding unit in order to move the element between the lift position and the plunge position, the linear actuator rod extending partly inside and partly outside the linear actuator housing. A displacement measuring system communicates with a control card. The linear actuator, the displacement measuring system and the control card are connected together to form a compact actuator unit.
Setting head, sheet metal press or setting device having this setting head, and a method for joining a joining element with the setting head
A setting head for a joining device, such as a press or a setting device, which setting head comprises the following features: a punch which is movable in a longitudinal direction such that a joining element can be joined into a component by means of a punch face arranged at a working end of the punch; a hollow cylindrical receiving sleeve which has a through-passage and which, with the punch in the through-passage, is guided adjacent to the working end of the punch concentrically and axially movably thereon; and two mutually opposite holding arms arranged on the receiving sleeve outside the through-passage each provide at least one laterally inwardly projecting holding end, with the result that the at least two holding ends allow the joining element to be releasably positionable adjacent to a punch-remote outlet opening of the through-passage and by the axially movable working end of the punch.
WELDING DEVICE
An apparatus for welding a welding stud to a specified location of a base material, comprising a stud holder, comprising an inert gas cover, which surrounds the stud holder while forming a gap between the stud holder and the inert gas cover, and comprising a projection device, which is intended to project a visual pattern onto the base material through the gap.

Three-dimensional shaped object production device and three-dimensional shaped object production method
Provided are a three-dimensional shaped object production device and method capable of producing a predetermined three-dimensional shaped object by forming a ball at a leading end of a conductive wire through use of the conductive wire based on scanned data or designed data and aligning and stacking the balls. The three-dimensional shaped object production device includes: a plate (40), on which a three-dimensional shaped object is placeable; a ball forming section configured to form a ball (13) by applying high voltage between a leading end of a conductive wire (4) paid out from a leading end of a capillary (12) and a spark rod (19) and melting the leading end of the wire by discharge energy; a positioning device configured to position the plate and the ball forming section by moving the plate and the ball forming section relative to each other; and a bonding section configured to bond the ball formed at the leading end of the capillary to another ball (14) that has already been stacked on the plate, the forming of the ball by the ball forming section, the relative moving of the plate and the ball forming section by the positioning device, and the bonding of the ball formed at the leading end of the capillary to the another ball by the bonding section is repeated, to thereby produce a three-dimensional shaped object having a desired shape.
Setting welding device, modular components thereof and a continuous connecting method that can be carried out with such a device
A setting welding device is set forth for setting stud-like auxiliary joining parts in a plurality of layers of material and subjecting them to a mechanical-thermoforming process on a second layer of material and connecting them to said second layer by way of a welding operation. For this purpose, the punch is used to apply to the welding auxiliary joining part mechanical and thermal loads that follow prescribed characteristic force and current curves. Furthermore, a corresponding connecting method that can be realized with the aid of the setting welding device is also disclosed.
BATTERY-ULTRACAPACITOR STUD WELDER
Devices and systems are disclosed herein for drawn arc stud welding. These systems and devices are extremely portable (<50 lbs.), deliver enough power for up to ¾″ diameter studs, and include a charging circuit, an energy storage device comprising a plurality of low ESR ultracapacitors, and a discharge circuit. The systems and devices can include a lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide (LiNiMnCoO.sub.2) battery to supply the energy storage device with about 20 to about 30 amps of current between welding operations.
