Airfoil joining apparatus and methods
An airfoil component for attaching to a cropped airfoil is provided. The cropped airfoil comprises a cropped airfoil attachment section and a cropped first side opposite a cropped second side, which each extend axially between a cropped first edge and a cropped second edge to define a cropped chord length. The airfoil component comprises a body having a component first side opposite a component second side. The body defines an attachment section for attaching the airfoil component to the cropped airfoil at the cropped airfoil attachment section. The attachment section extends axially between a component first edge and a component second edge to define a component chord length, and the attachment section is oversized with respect to the cropped airfoil attachment section such that the component chord length is longer than the cropped chord length. Systems and methods also are provided.

The tube is covered by a tube coating extending over the entire length of the tube from one end of the tube to the other.

System and method of manufacturing high-strength bonded metal sheets for a battery cell are provided. The method comprises providing a stackup comprising a first metal sheet and a second metal sheet. The first and second metal sheets are separated by a first coating layer. The first coating layer comprises nickel-phosphide. The first metal sheet includes a first material of a first melting point and the second metal sheet includes a second material of a second melting point. The first coating layer including a third material of a third melting point. The method further comprises heating the stackup to allow crystallization of nickel in the first coating layer and remove the residual nickel-phosphide defining an enhanced coating layer. The enhanced coating layer comprises crystallized nickel for high-strength solid state bonding of the first and second metal sheets to the enhanced coating layer.
Air conditioner
The present invention relates to an air conditioner. The air conditioner according to the present embodiment has a refrigeration capacity of 11 kW to 16 kW, inclusive, and uses R32 as a refrigerant circulating therein, and since a refrigerant pipe therein is made of a ductile stainless steel material having 1% or less of a delta-ferrite matrix structure with respect to the grain size area thereof, the refrigerant pipe can maintain strength and hardness as good as or better than those of a copper pipe, while also maintaining good processability.

A poppet valve, in particular a hollow poppet valve, includes: a valve stem; a valve body having along a longitudinal axis, a first end with a neck portion to which the valve stem is coaxially arranged and having along a longitudinal axis a second end with a first conical contact face portion, the valve body including a cavity with a first opening towards the first end and a second opening towards the second end; and a valve cap coaxially arranged to the valve body on the second end for closing the second opening, the valve cap having a second conical contact face portion to form together with the first conical contact face portion a valve head contact face.

The present invention relates to an air conditioner. The air conditioner according to the present embodiment has a refrigeration capacity of 7 kW to 11 kW, inclusive, and uses, as a refrigerant, a mixed refrigerant containing 50% or more of R32, and since a refrigerant pipe therein is made of a ductile stainless steel material having 1% or less of a delta-ferrite matrix structure with respect to the grain size area thereof, and includes a suction pipe guiding the suction of the refrigerant into a compressor and having an outer diameter of 15.88 mm, the refrigerant pipe can maintain strength and hardness as good as or better than those of a copper pipe, while also maintaining good processability.

An elongate vehicle reinforcement member having a U-shaped cross section, wherein the member is disposed inside and welded to a vehicle structural member, wherein the vehicle structural member includes opposite base lateral walls, the vehicle reinforcement member including: opposite reinforcement lateral walls extending in vehicle height and width directions, each having an outward edge on an outer side in vehicle width direction and an inward edge on an inner side; and a reinforcement connecting wall connecting the outward edges of the lateral walls, each lateral wall together with the connecting wall forming a ridge, each lateral wall including a row of welding projections, each protruding outward over the entire width of the lateral wall, each welding projection having a raised welding surface wherein the reinforcement lateral wall is welded to the base lateral wall, the welding projections in each row being arranged at intervals along vehicle height direction.
Method of joining steel having different resistivities
A method of joining a multiple member work-piece includes providing a first steel work-piece having a first electrical resistivity and a second steel work-piece having a second electrical resistivity that is lower than the first electrical resistivity. A third material is disposed in contact with the second steel work-piece. The third material has an electrical resistivity that is greater than the second electrical resistivity. The method includes resistance welding the first and second work-pieces together. The third material may be in the form of a rivet, a third work-piece, or a coating material disposed between the first and second work-pieces. A bonded assembly includes steel members and a third material being bonded together, wherein the electrical resistivity of the second member is lower than the electrical resistivity of the first member, and the third material has an electrical resistivity that is greater than the electrical resistivity of the second member.
DEVICE AND METHODS OF MUTLIPLE SPOT WELDING FOR AUTOMOTIVE APPLICATIONS USING VAPORIZING FOIL ACTUATOR WELDING
A multiple spot vaporizing foil actuator weld (VFAW) system includes a target sheet layer secured relative to a stabilizing component, such that standoff components may be arranged sandwichably between the target and a flier sheet layer. An electrically insulating layer separates the flier from a vaporizing component sheet layer, which may comprise at least two vaporizing subsections configured to have less conductive material than at least three dividing subsections that separate the vaporizing subsections. The geometry and/or other features of the vaporizing subsections may be varied to optimize the vaporization. A second electrically insulated stabilizing component may sandwichably secure the above components between the first stabilizing component in order to control the forces generated in the VFAW process. The method involves loading the vaporizable component sheet layer with electrons via applied voltage such that the vaporizing subsections sublimate. The rapidly expanding gas particles accelerate the flier, completing the weld.
