An object is to significantly control the position of a void in a bonding material for bonding a metal member to a circuit board. A metal member equipped circuit board includes a circuit board in which a through hole is formed; a metal member disposed in the through hole forming a gap between the metal member and an inner peripheral surface of the through hole; and a bonding member that bonds together the circuit board and the metal member, wherein in a direction following an outer periphery of the metal member, a gap between an outer peripheral surface of the metal member and the inner peripheral surface of the through hole varies, and a void is present in a portion with a widest gap between the outer peripheral surface of the metal member and the inner peripheral surface of the through hole.

Welding method for hollow airfoils and intermediate body

A method of forming an airfoil includes the steps of (a) providing an airfoil body with a hollow having at least one rib extending to an outer surface, and forming the outer surface of the rib to have at least one groove connecting a hollow pocket within a boundary defined by the rib to a location outwardly of the rib, (b) placing a cover over the hollow, and (c) welding the cover to the airfoil body, and such that the rib is welded to the blade cover. An intermediate airfoil body is also disclosed.

METHOD FOR PROCESSING A STRIP

A method processes a belt with a belt body that has a first surface and a second surface connected to each other by side surfaces. Each side surface is smaller than each surface. At least one of the surfaces of the belt is coated with a coating having at least one layer. In a step i) the coating is interrupted or left out in a region of the belt to be processed, and a recess, in particular a gap-shaped or hole-shaped recess, interrupting the coating is produced in the region to be processed, which recess is at least partially delimited by opposite sections of the at least one coating. In a step ii) directly thereafter or after further intermediate steps, the recess is at least partially filled up with at least one material of the same type as that of the at least one layer of the coating.

JOINT METHOD

A joint method includes a groove formation step of removing part of a first projection and part of the second projection to form a groove region between the first projection and the second projection, a first welding step of joining a first member and a second member to each other by butt welding, and a second welding step of filling the groove region by buildup welding. The groove formation step forms a first inclined surface in the first projection facing the groove region to be gradually distant from a joint position joined with the second projection so as to be closer to an outer surface of the first projection, and forms a second inclined surface in the second projection facing the groove region to be gradually distant from the joint position joined with the first projection so as to be closer to an outer surface of the second projection.
